Unlike walking a dog, taking a cat for a stroll is pretty challenging. However, one recent invention, featured on the Instagram account Life Hack (@lifehack), which posts videos of life hacks from all over the world, is taking the internet by storm for its uncommon yet cute mode of kitty transportation.
The clip opens with a shot of a cat being walked in a tote bag with a cartoon space kitten printed on the front. The leashless cat walker has four openings at the bottom of the bag for the cat’s legs to comfortably fit through and one on the side for its head.

The cat strolls peacefully, guided by its owner, who is holding the tote by its handles. In the following footage, another person walks their cat in a black cloth grocery bag before the clip cuts to a shot of someone carrying their cat while its legs dangle above ground.
In a closing close-up shot of the cat’s face as it’s being carried around, the furry feline appears calm, albeit slightly puzzled.
Will cats like this?
Some viewers found the video amusing, while others weren’t shy about expressing their skepticism about this cat-walking method.
“I cannot see my cat, Pickles, liking this,” one Instagram user mentioned.
“Is this the new Gucci, and will they do a payment plan?” joked one viewer.
“Genius until a doggy walks past, haha, then you’re left with a bag and a lost kitty,” one user commented.
“Just get a harness,” wrote another viewer.
While the cats in the video seem to have mastered the approach, the jury’s out on whether tote bags will become the standard for walking cats.
