Top Somerset County baseball, softball, tennis, track and field performers for April 14-20

Baseball

Windber 16, Portage 0 (4): Andrew Scalia tallied two hits, including a grand slam and four RBIs to lead the Ramblers in a romp of the Mustangs.

Lucas Oleksa recorded two hits, including a 3-run home run and four RBIs. Cole Mash and Lucas Rummel each drove in a pair of runs. Dawson Himes allowed two hits to earn the win.

Blacklick Valley 2, Meyersdale 1: Karter Schurg contributed a hit and an RBI for the Red Raiders in a setback to the Vikings.

Turkeyfoot Valley 7, Calvary Christian 2: Bryce Nicholson tossed a complete game, allowing one earned run on four hits while striking out eight to guide the Rams to a victory.

Heath Nicholson drove in two runs. Bryce Nicholson and Zack Ryan each scored two runs.

Softball

Meyersdale 18, Blacklick Valley 3 (4): Jessica Daughton provided three hits and three RBIs while Marcella Dupre chipped in two hits and three RBIs for the Red Raiders in a rout of the Vikings.

Laurel Daniels, Amber Long and Morgan Walters each tallied two RBIs while Izabella Donaldson and Zoe Hetz each added two hits. Daniels struck out five in the win.

Track and field

Berlin Brothersvalley splits with Everett: The Berlin girls bested Everett 98-50, while the boys fell 119-30.

Mikaela Glessner (100 and 300 hurdles, 1600 relay), Deborah Bozovich (200 and 400 dash, 1600 relay), Zoraeja Miller (800, 1600), Lexi Fairman (long jump, 400 relay), Lexi Foor (high jump, 400 relay), and Addisyn Glessner (pole vault, 400 relay) all earned multiple wins for the Mountaineers.

Connor Montgomery won the pole vault for the boys.

Gene Schultz Memorial Tournament

Bishop McCort 5, Conemaugh Township 0: Zack Petree delivered three hits for Conemaugh Township in a setback to the Crushers in the tournament championship game.

Conemaugh Township 13, Shanksville-Stonycreek 1 (5): D.J. Bambino racked up four hits and two RBIs to propel Conemaugh Township into the title game.

Brennan Lohr added two RBIs while Luke Weber and Larry Weaver each had two hits and an RBI. Luke Haight allowed one run on one hit, four walks and struck out six.

Shanksville fell to United 20-2 in the consolation game.
