The top returning Vermont high school softball players? Here's our 2024 watchlist.

After conversations, texts and email messages with coaches and media colleagues throughout Vermont, here is our annual list of some of the state's top returning high school softball players.

The softball regular season concludes by June 1. Playoffs open June 4 and 5 with first-round contests, with the title games tentatively slated for June 14 and 15 at Castleton (weather, graduation dates play factor in determining final dates/times).

Position: Infield/pitcher

2023 season: Batted .300 and went 5-1 in the circle to make the Metro Division second team.

KAIA ANDERSON

School: St. Johnsbury

Class year: Senior

Position: Infield

2023 season: Led St. Johnsbury in RBIs, batted .359 and had a .923 fielding percentage to make the Metro Division second team.

HADLEE ALLEN

School: Oxbow

Class year: Senior

Position: Outfield

2023 season: Landed on second team for the Capital Division, helping Oxbow to a D-III title three-peat. Also batted .557.

ABBY BATHALON

School: North Country

Class year: Junior

Position: Outfield

2023 season: Hit .370 and scored 14 runs to earn second-team honors for the Metro Division.

SAVANAH BLAISE

School: Vergennes

Class year: Junior

Position: Pitcher/infield

2023 season: A second-team pick in the Lake Division for the D-III semifinalists.

KARLI BLOOD

School: Blue Mountain

Class year: Senior

Position: Shortstop

2023 season: Named to the Mountain Division first team after helping Blue Mountain to D-IV crown. Batted .434 with 11 doubles, 30 RBIs and 35 runs.

MADISON BOOSKA

School: Colchester

Class year: Senior

Position: Catcher

2023 season: The Metro Division first-team honoree batted .471 with a trio of homers, five doubles and 16 RBIs. Behind the plate, Booska threw out 13 of 16 base runners and had three successful pickoffs.

LIZI BOURDEAU

School: Missisquoi

Class year: Junior

Position: third base/pitcher

2023 season: Named to Metro Division second team after batting .362 with 17 RBIs and 12 runs.

ANASTASE BOURGEOIS

School: Oxbow

Class year: Junior

Position: Pitcher

2023 season: The Oxbow ace and Capital Division player of the year had a 12-win campaign with a 0.70 ERA and 120 strikeouts over 69.2 innings. She also batted a team-high .672.

MAIZE BOURGEOIS

School: Oxbow

Class year: Sophomore

Position: Catcher

2023 season: Batted .507 with a 1.367 OPS to make first team in the Capital Division.

ATHANASIA BOYER

School: Colchester

Class year: Junior

Position: Pitcher/outfield

2023 season: Named to the Metro Division first team, Boyer batted .413 with seven doubles and 17 runs. In the circle, she fanned 81 batters over 61.2 innings.

MEREDITH CAMERON

School: Middlebury

2023 season: Landed on the Lake Division honorable-mention squad for the D-II finalists.

Position: Second base

2023 season: Picked for the Metro Division first team, Dasaro batted .386 with 21 runs for the D-I champions.

KAITLYN DEBONIS

School: Poultney

Class year: Senior

Position: Pitcher

2023 season: Helped Poultney to 12-win season and garnered first-team honors in the SVL 'C' Division.

EMMA DEERING

School: Middlebury

2023 season: A second-team selection for the Lake Division.

2023 season: Named to the Lake Division honorable-mention squad, Havreluk led Rice in numerous offensive categories including batting (.554), on-base percentage (.639), slugging (1.000), runs (37) and homers (3).

2023 season: The leadoff hitter batted .366 and made the second team out of the Lake Division.

2022 season: Selected to the Metro Division first team, Robare hit .491 with seven doubles and 15 RBIs. Sported a .989 fielding percentage.

LILLY ROBTOY

School: Enosburg

2023 season: The team's No. 2 hitter, Robtoy batted .344 to make the Lake Division second team.

JAYDIN ROYER

2023 season: The Capital Division first-team pick batted .564 with 34 RBIs and a 1.335 OPS. Also struck out 47 and had a 3.05 ERA in 43 innings pitched.

2023 season: Made second team for the Lake Division.

2023 season: Batted .360 with five doubles to be named to the Metro Division honorable-mention squad.

2023 season: The Capital Division second-team pick batted .451 with 21 RBIs and 19 runs. Also had an 8-1 record in the circle, with 61 strikeouts and a 2.93 ERA over 45 innings.

2023 season: The Capital Division first-team honoree hit .608 with five homers, 30 RBIs and 40 runs. Also had a 1.864 OPS and 1.176 slugging percentage for the D-II semifinalists.
