Who are the top players in Greater Cincinnati high school lacrosse at the halfway point?

Lacrosse players in Greater Cincinnati are getting their sticks in gear and into the swing of things. Here is a look at the top performers so far this season as it reaches its halfway point. Note that some teams don't publish statistics.

Cincinnati Hills League boys

Trey Carter, Indian Hill – The senior has 19 goals, second in the CHL.

Ethan Cole, Indian Hill – The freshman has nine goals, a league-high 11 assists and a league-high 41 ground balls.

Beckett Heimann, Indian Hill – The sophomore has 15 goals and eight assists.

Stuart Wells, Mariemont – The senior leads the league with 20 goals.

CHL girls

Laurel Black, Mariemont – The junior has 25 goals and 13 assists.

Francie DiMauro, Madeira – She has 32 goals, second in the league, in only six games.

Cece Kuwatch and Charlotte Soller, Mariemont – Both players have 21 goals and 10 assists for the Warriors.

Lexi Larsen, Indian Hill – The senior leads the league with 42 goals and is second with 25 ground balls. She was first-team all-state last year for the DII state semifinalists.

Michelle Lindberg, Indian Hill - She has 26 goals and 49 draw controls.

Abby Ranz, Wyoming – The sophomore has 15 goals and a league-high 18 assists.

Eastern Cincinnati Conference boys

Milford is in first place at 5-0 and 5-3 overall. Kings is 6-1 and has played one league game, winning it.

The Eagles have five players in double digits in goals: Luke Barkimer, Wade Rotunna, Brady Stern, Tyler Allard and Brendan Worthington.

Alec Anderson, Little Miami – The senior is second in the league with 24 goals and also has 30 ground balls.

Luke Barkimer, Milford – The senior is the team’s leader in goals (16) and assists (17) and also has 17 ground balls and eight caused turnovers, second in the league. He was a second-team all-state selection last season.

Lincoln Engelhart, Little Miami – The sophomore is second in the league in ground balls (39) and draw controls (62).

Zach Gleason, Loveland – The senior leads the ECC with 36 goals and 20 assists, and has 32 ground balls.

Kyle Harden, Loveland – The freshman has 30 caused turnovers to lead the league by 15.

A.J. Johnson, Kings – The senior is third in the league in goals with 21 and tied for third with 13, all in just six games.

Reece Kruse, Loveland – The senior leads the league in ground balls with 50 and draws with 91 in 11 games.

Sawyer Muchmore, Loveland – The junior has 32 ground balls and has 16 goals and 12 assists.

Keegan Oldendick, Milford – The freshman has been key for the league leaders with 34 ground balls and a team-high 48 draw controls.

ECC girls

Walnut Hills and Kings are undefeated in league play. Kings is 9-1 overall and Walnut 5-4. Kings has three players with more than 30 goals in seniors Kenzie Beck and Sami Drew, and sophomore Marin Bode.

Kenzie Beck, Kings – The senior has 36 goals, 12 assists and is third in the league with 25 ground balls.

Ellen Benintendi, Turpin – The senior leads the league in goals with 38, draw controls with 71 and caused turnovers with 21. She is second in ground balls with 27. She has the team career record for draw controls.

Marin Bode, Kings – She has 37 goals and 40 draw controls.

Belle Cogan, Turpin – She has taken over in goal after an injury and has averaged 6.4 saves per game for the Spartans.

Taylor Denning, Turpin – The sophomore has 32 goals and 10 assists.

Sami Drew, Kings – The senior has 34 goals and six assists, and is second in the league with 58 draw controls.

Sophia Flora, Lebanon – The sophomore has 20 goals and is third in turnovers caused with 18, plus is among the league leaders with 21 ground balls.

Amelia Macura, Loveland – The senior leads the league with 35 ground balls in just seven games, and also has 15 caused turnovers.

Sam Murray, Loveland – The freshman has 32 goals in only six games.

Grace Sims, Kings – The senior is one of three players in the league with double figures in goals (14) and assists (13).

Carea Tuck, Walnut Hills – The senior has 17 goals and nine assists, and is fourth in the league in ground balls (24) and third in draw controls (40).

Girls Greater Catholic League

Seton and Ursuline were set to battle for first place in the league Wednesday evening. Both have one loss in all games.

Seton has the league’s top three scorers. Faith Sellet has 43 goals and 16 assists. Ava Sellet has 42 goals and nine assists. Aly Young has 37 goals and a league-high 41 assists. Ursuline is led by Grace Bevington with 32 goals and Ryley Heilmann with 30. Bevington was second-team all-state in DII last season.

Gwen Garneret, MND – The sophomore has 18 goals and eight assists.

Maddie Rueve, St. Ursula – The junior has 13 goals and is second in the league in ground balls (32).

Catherine Sullivan, St. Ursula – The senior has 24 goals, five assists and 30 ground balls.

Greater Catholic League-Coed boys

Fenwick is 8-1 and 3-0 in league play and Mathew Swisher leads the league with 31 goals and 13 assists. The Falcons have the league’s top four goal-scorers. Parker Beuerlein has 27 goals and 10 assists. Cooper Mulligan has 18 and 6, and Bradley Sejas 18 and 4. John Tanaka adds 12 goals and is tied with Swisher with 13 assists.

Senior Bruce Bray has a league-high 66 ground balls plus 54 draw controls.

Josh Charron, McNicholas – The freshman has 43 ground balls in six games, third in the league.

GCL-Coed girls

Fenwick is in first place with a 3-0 record. Senior Katie Gallagher is third in the league with 29 goals, and two off the league lead with eight assists. She is tied for the lead with 11 turnovers.

Senior Kate Tanaka has 14 goals and five assists.

Greater Catholic League-South

St. Xavier, a state runner-up last year, is 8-2 against a brutal schedule. The Bombers are 2-0 in league play including a 16-13 win over Moeller. The Bombers do not post stats, but returning first-team all-state pick Khalif Hocker, a top recruit and 2023 All-American, is pacing the offense.

Drew Schrudde, La Salle – He leads the team with 20 goals and 14 assists in six games.

Greater Miami Conference boys

Mason is in first place at 5-0 among the six programs that have the sport and Is 8-1 overall.

The Comets have six players who have between eight and 13 goals: Jacob Lupinski, Tyler Lupinski, Peter Marietta, Eli Natorp, Jeffrey Pitcher and Quinn Riley. Senior Ben Cravens leads the team with 41 ground balls (five per game) and 78 draw controls (nearly 10 per game). Hayden Bunch has 18 caused turnovers.

Ryan Barone, Lakota East – The senior all-state selection on defense last season leads the league in turnovers (32) and is fourth in ground balls (38).

Carson Cheek, Lakota West – The senior leads the league with 68 ground balls and 101 draw controls.

Reice Hafl, Lakota West – The senior has 13 goals and a league-high 21 assists.

Brody Hermann, Lakota West – The junior is second in the league with 20 goals plus six assists.

Garrett Kessling, Oak Hills – The senior has 16 goals and 10 assists, tied for second in the GMC. He is also second in the league in ground balls with 59, 6.6 per game.

Ryan Lynn, Sycamore – The sophomore leads the league in goals with 24 in just six games, four per game.

Greater Miami Conference girls

Sycamore, a state semifinalist last year, is 5-0 in the league and 6-1 overall. The Aviators average 16 goals per game, about 70 percent from the 1-2 punch of senior Carly Thiel and junior Jordana Ronis-Tobin.

Thiel, a senior and a first-team all-state selection last season, has picked up where she left off with, scoring 40 goals (5.7 per game) while also leading the team with 87 draw controls (12.4 per game), 30 grounds balls and 10 caused turnovers.

Ronis-Tobin has 19 ground balls, second to Thiel.

Claire Baenzinger, Mason – The senior is fourth in the league in goals with 27 and third in draw controls (47).

Madison Coster, Oak Hills – The senior is third in the league in goals with 35, and second in ground balls (20) and draws (58).

Brooke Hermann, Lakota West – The junior has 20 goals and a league-high 19 assists.

Lucy Reder, Lakota West – The sophomore has 25 goals and seven caused turnovers.

Poppy Wallbank, Lakota East – The junior has 23 goals and nine assists.

Brenna West, Lakota West – The junior is tied for third in ground balls (19) while posting 14 goals and eight assists on offense.

Parker Cribbs, Roger Bacon – The senior has 19 goals and seven assists, second in the league.

Anna Mallaley, CHCA – The junior leads the league with 20 goals.

Siena Motch, Seven Hills – She has 18 goals in only four games.

Isabel Ramirez, CCD – The senior has 15 goals in only three games posted.

Southwesten Buckeye League boys

Connor Ballantyne, Edgewood – The senior leads the league with 16 goals, 20 assists and 60 ground balls in seven games (8.6 per game).

Leland Beerman, Edgewood – The junior has 15 goals and seven assists in five games.

Northern Kentucky boys

Alec Brenner, Covington Catholic – The senior has 11 goals and a team-high 11 assists, plus 31 ground balls in eight games.

Jonathan Ghazala, Covington Catholic – The senior has a team-high 35 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers

Jacob Hayduk, Covington Catholic – He leads the Colonels with 21 goals.

Lincoln Mann, Walton-Verona – The senior has 17 goals and six assists in five games.

Ephraim Turner, Cooper – The sophomore has 15 goals, 12 assists and a team-high 78 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers.

Eric Wong, Cooper – The junior has 44 goals and 16 assists, plus 51 ground balls.

Northern Kentucky girls

Kathrynne Day, Cooper – The senior is third on the team in ground balls.

Lucy Hermann, Cooper – The junior has 36 goals and a team-high 57 ground balls.

Samantha Sandefur, Cooper – The junior has 60 goals and 48 ground balls.

Brynn Wainscott, Dixie Heights – The senior has 16 goals.
