The 6-foot-9, 321-pound lineman was a unanimous All-American selection last season, and is the son of John Alt, who was selected in the first round out of Iowa in the 1984 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. Alt started 33 games in three seasons with the Fighting Irish.
Offensive linemen are never the flashiest first-round picks, but are obviously an essential part of every offense.
