Top Clarksville area high school returning seniors for 2024 TSSAA football season

High school teams across Tennessee are in the midst of spring practices with the 2024 TSSAA football season three months away.

Here's a look at the top returning seniors in the Clarksville area:

James Dalrymple, Clarksville, RB: Dalrymple was a first-team All-Area selection and gained 1,175 yards on 131 carries and accounted for 21 touchdowns, 18 rushing and three passing, during the Wildcats' 10-1 season.

Ahmoyre Galbreath, Clarksville, RB/LB: The reigning All-Area Player of the Year ran for 866 yards and 13 touchdowns on 108 carries in addition to 58 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, two sacks and three fumble recoveries. He has an offer from Eastern Kentucky.

Ben Moore, Clarksville, TE: Moore was second-team All-Area after catching nine passes for 195 yards and four touchdowns while blocking for a rushing attack that averaged close to 400 yards per game.

Jack Stein, Clarksville, LB: Stein was a first-team All-Area selection who had 89 tackles (12 for loss) and a forced fumble for a defense that allowed only 6.7 points per game.

Chris Ragans Jr., Clarksville Academy, ATH: Ragans totaled 864 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns and averaged 23.5 yards per kick return. He also passed for 380 yards.

Dallas Wofford, Clarksville Academy, OL: Wofford had 37 pancake blocks last season and allowed only one sack.

Torrance Dixon, Fort Campbell, LB/RB: Dixon racked up 113 tackles, two TFLs and two forced fumbles and had 223 yards total offense and three touchdowns.

Malaki Cary, Houston County, RB/DB: Cary scored seven touchdowns and gained 539 yards on 78 carries, in addition to 197 receiving yards and two touchdowns. On defense, he had 32 tackles and two interceptions.

Tristen Hooper, Houston County, LB/TE: Hooper, a second-team All-Area selection, had 92 tackles, six tackles for loss and four interceptions. He caught 16 passes for 245 yards and four touchdowns as the Irish improved from two straight winless seasons to reach the playoffs.

Jakoby Cox, Kenwood, QB: The 6-foot-6 Cox was second-team All-Area after passing for 1,261 yards and eight touchdowns. He was also the Knights' leading rusher with 410 yards and eight touchdowns on 78 carries.

Cam'ron Dowell, Kenwood, ATH: Dowell had 875 all-purpose yards, three touchdowns, 25 tackles, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and six pass breakups. He was second-team All-Area.

MJ Bigbee, Kirkwood, DL: The second-team All-Area selection had 49 tackles, 13 TFLs, four sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and two blocked kicks, helping the Cobras go 5-5 in their debut season.

Lee Buggs, Kirkwood, QB: Buggs went 65-for-138 for 1,098 yards passing with 12 touchdowns and added 316 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 59 carries. He has an offer from Eastern Kentucky.

Moses Byrd, Kirkwood, DL: The second-team All-Area selection had 62 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, four sacks and forced a fumble last season at Northeast.

Perry Cross-Snead, Kirkwood, LB/RB: Cross-Snead was second-team All-Area with 72 tackles, seven tackles for loss, a pick-six and rushed for 408 yards and seven touchdowns. He has offers from Eastern Kentucky and Wofford.

Gavyn Hunter, Kirkwood, WR: The first-team All-Area selection caught 44 passes for 739 yards with five touchdowns and totaled 1,073 all-purpose yards and seven scores. He has an offer from Eastern Kentucky.

Kanyon Conner, Montgomery Central, DB: Conner had 98 tackles, two interceptions, nine deflections, four forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and four blocked extra points. He was named second team All-Area.

Eamonte Wynn, Northeast, LB: Wynn was the Eagles' second-leading tackler last season with 54 stops and six TFLs.

Bryce Brooks, Northwest, DL: Brooks was second-team All-Area after totaling 59 tackles (16 for loss), 11 sacks, 11 hurries and three forced fumbles.

Anthony Holland, Northwest, DB: The first-team All-Area honoree had 48 tackles, six interceptions and accounted for four touchdowns at Montgomery Central last season.

Reed Bryant, Rossview, QB: Bryant was the most efficient quarterback in Montgomery County, completing 58 of 96 passes for 790 yards and 12 touchdowns against four interceptions. He also rushed for 117 yards.

Johnny Cabaleiro, Rossview, LB/P: Cabaleiro was second-team All-Area. He had 67 tackles (five for loss), a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, a pick-six and averaged 36 yards per punt.

Kole Phillips, Rossview, LB: The first-team All-Area selection and Region 7-6A defensive player of the year racked up 84 tackles, 10 TFLs, one sack, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and a defensive touchdown for a unit that recorded five shutouts.

Cole Pellum, Stewart County, OL/DL: Pellum is a returning starter on both lines for the Rebels.

Kingston Leon, West Creek, LB: Leon had 100 tackles, four tackles for loss and a sack en route to first-team All-Area honors as the Coyotes made the playoffs for the first time since 2010.
