Beloved in Florida for its deli-style menu, TooJay’s, the longtime casual-restaurant chain founded more than 40 years ago in Palm Beach, has expanded its menu and appointed a new CEO.

The new menu additions — including sandwiches, desserts and tiered “tower” meal presentations — are part of plans to “elevate TooJay’s to new heights,” according to new CEO Mark Kirke.

“Our commitment to quality, authenticity and unparalleled service remains unwavering,” Kirke, a former executive with Winter Park-based Artistry Restaurants, said in a news release. “With our refreshed menu and dedication to delighting our guests every time they dine with us, we are focused on positioning TooJay’s as Florida’s favorite deli for generations to come,” he said.

The three new sandwiches, two new desserts and two tower presentations are available at all 20 Florida locations of TooJay’s, which was founded in 1981 in Palm Beach’s Royal Poinciana Plaza.

The chain now is led by Orlando-based owner-partner Earl Enterprises, which operates such dining concepts as Buca di Beppo and Brio in addition to TooJay’s, according to its website.

A Nova Tower — with thinly sliced Nova salmon accompanied by capers, lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, cucumbers, cream cheese, bagel chips and bagels of choice — is among the two new towers serving two to four people.

Guests who order the Nova Tower ($38.99 for two people; $74.99 for four people) currently receive a complimentary mimosa.

Another tower, the Deli Tower, features three deli meats and two cheeses of choice with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and fresh-baked bread. The Deli Tower is $28.99 for two and $55.99 for four.

A new 6-pound sandwich (serving several people), the Mighty Jay ($84.99), is stacked with layers of turkey, roast beef, corned beef, Swiss cheese, coleslaw, lettuce and tomatoes.

Among the other new sandwiches: the Pastrami Burger ($16.99, with sirloin rolled in TooJay’s pastrami rub and topped with pastrami, caramelized onion, Swiss cheese and chipotle mayo), and the Mile High with a double-portion of TooJay’s corned beef or pastrami. The Mile High sandwich, which serves more than one person, costs $22.98.

Chocolate marble coffee cake ($4.99 for three slices; $7.99 whole loaf) is one of two new desserts. The other is a strawberry cake ($7.99 a slice and $34.99 for a whole cake) “washed” in strawberry simple syrup and iced with strawberry frosting.

Also serving soups, salads and other items, Palm Beach’s TooJay’s is located in Royal Poinciana Plaza’s Suite 335, where it moved after spending 40 years in its founding location in Suite 313.

The Suite 335 location, which opened in 2022, has “greater visibility” compared to the former location, TooJay’s officials have said, with new kitchen facilities and an indoor-outdoor “retro” look with 78 inside seats (including booths) and 12 outside seats.
