Too much to drink? Here are the promo codes to get a Lyft discount for the holidays

Summit County is once again offering the Arrive Alive program to discourage drunken driving and help keep residents and roadways safe during this holiday season.

Free or reduced-fare rides are available upon request from 6 p.m. Dec. 22 to noon Dec. 26 and 6 p.m. Dec. 31 to noon Jan. 2. The campaign coincides with National Impaired Driving Prevention Month.

There are 600 one-time use codes available to be redeemed for up to $20 off a Lyft ride

Use code SUMMITXMAS23 for Christmas and code SUMMITNYE24 for New Year’s Eve.

The codes are only good for the specific time period outlined above.

Since Arrive Alive's launch in Summit County during the July 4th weekend in 2018, nearly 4,000 people have used the program during designated occasions.

“I do not want tragedy to ruin a family’s holiday celebration," Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh said in a release. "Arrive Alive provides a safe way to get home and not put people in danger. I urge people to reserve their Arrive Alive code early and don’t forget to use it."

Summit County Sheriff Kandy Fatheree urged residents to take advantage of the program.

"Don’t let a little holiday cheer turn into a nightmare for you, or for others on the road," Fatheree said.
