Too Hot to Handle star Chloe Veitch has come out as bisexual, after what she described as a period of "battling it" and soul-searching while on the upcoming E4 series The Big Celebrity Detox.

Veitch said that "doing breath work forced me to dig deeper," (via The Sun).

"I realised, ‘This is what’s bothering you – you’re bisexual and you haven’t told anyone. I’ve definitely been battling it, to be honest. I mean, being in and out of little flings with girls. I felt like it was my dirty little secret so it has taken the weight off my shoulders."

"Because I’ve been on heterosexual dating shows, I’m just a bit anxious of public opinion. But at the end of the day, if I’m happy, that’s all that matters. I’m itching to go out there and date both guys and girls. It’s really exciting," Veitch said.

Too Hot to Handle is a heterosexual dating show but more dating shows are embracing bisexual dating formats, including Perfect Match — which was praised for its bisexual representation.

Francesca Farago spoke about the show's format and said she wasn't told she could date both men and women on the show before taking part.

"I think that was something that I kind of guided towards during filming. I reached a point where I wasn’t sure if I wanted to remain in the house anymore because I just I didn’t know if there was someone for me there," she said.

"I knew who was there, men-wise, and I was like, 'I don’t know if I can waste anyone’s time by continuing to match with these men that I know I’m not going to get along with.' Then, I found out there was a possibility of me being matched with a female, and I was like, 'In that case, I will stay for that.'"

Too Hot to Handle seasons 1-4 are now streaming on Netflix.
