After tonight's episode of Feud: Capote vs. the Swans airs (or tomorrow's episode, if you watch on Hulu), after Babe (Naomi Watts) walks away after a run-in with Truman (Tom Hollander) in the final scene, a title card that simply reads: "In memory of Treat Williams 1951 - 2023."

Treat Williams, in case you were unaware, is the actor who portrays Bill Paley in the series. On June 12, 2023, Williams was in a motorcycle crash in Dorset, Vermont, and was pronounced dead after being airlifted to Albany Medical Center. He was 71 years old.

"Treat was full of love for his family, for his life and for his craft, and was truly at the top of his game in all of it," his family said in a statement at the time. "It is all so shocking right now, but please know that Treat was dearly and deeply loved and respected by his family and everyone who knew him. We are beyond devastated and ask that you respect our privacy as we deal with our grief. To all his fans, please know that Treat appreciated all of you and please continue to keep him in your hearts and prayers."

An investigation later found that Williams was unable to avoid a collision; Ryan Koss, the driver of the Honda SUV, pleaded not guilty in the crash. According to the Associated Press, Koss "could be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison if he’s convicted of gross negligent operation with death resulting."

Williams appeared in many movies and television shows over the years, but this will forever be known as his last role. In March 2023, he posted on X (formerly Twitter) a photo of biography of Paley by Sally Bedell Smith, In All His Glory: The Life of William S. Paley and the Birth of Modern Broadcasting, writing, "That’s a wrap for me on Feud: Capote’s Women. What an interesting fellow to play. What a great cast. And thanks to Gus Van Sant and Ryan Murphy."
