Tom Holland is now one of the biggest stars in the world, but it's easy to forget that he wasn't always Spider-Man.

After impressing as Billy Elliot on stage, Holland made his way into movies and started off in more dramatic fare. Technically, his debut movie was an English dub role for Arrietty as Shō, but the first time we actually saw him in a movie was The Impossible.

The disaster movie is based on one family's experience during the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor star as Maria and Henry Bennett, with Holland playing Lucas, one of their three sons.

If you haven't seen it yet, The Impossible is available to watch on BBC iPlayer right now, but is being removed in the early hours of Monday, April 1 which means that Sunday, March 31 is your last full day to watch it.

The Impossible is also available to watch right now on Netflix in the UK and Ireland.

Back in 2013, Holland was on the awards circuit for The Impossible when he was asked what his ideal future roles would be.

"There are so many roles made every year it's impossible to say exactly what you want to do, but something that has a bit of action or a bit of comedy; maybe something that's less serious than The Impossible. Maybe something a bit jokey," he said.

"What kind of superhero would I want to play? Maybe Spider-Man in like, 10 years' time. Maybe. The reboot of the reboot."

What a prediction that turned out to be.

The Impossible was directed by JA Bayona who was back in the disaster genre earlier this year with Society of the Snow, which became one of Netflix's most-watched non-English language movies.

It's also nominated for Best International Feature Film at this year's Oscars, but Society of the Snow faces tough competition from The Zone of Interest. The two movies went head-to-head at the BAFTAs and The Zone of Interest won out.

The Impossible is being removed from BBC iPlayer on April 1.
