Spider-Man and The Crowded Room's Tom Holland has paid tribute to the family dog Tessa after she passed away last month.

The actor shared a photo of the Staffordshire Bull Terrier to his Instagram, writing: "Missing my lady."

He also shared an Instagram Story linking to his dad Dominic Holland's blog on Patreon, in which he revealed that the family had planted a tree in the garden in Tessa's memory.

It was Dominic who announced Tessa's death at the end of March, explaining she had been ill.

The Holland family got Tessa back in 2014, and Tom had famously brought her to set and press events. He previously explained how he based his performance as an animated dog in 2020's Dolittle on her.

While he often praised how well-behaved Tessa was, he did admit she caused some mischief on one film set.

Back in 2022, he said: "I was shooting this film called The Current War with Benedict Cumberbatch, which was a very serious movie about the invention of the light bulb.

"We were shooting this sequence that was supposed to be in a field, but we shot it in a sound stage, and Benedict was supposed to be giving this massive speech.

"Tessa is so well-behaved, I can have her on set, she doesn't bark, she doesn't make a noise. But, she must have had some hay intolerance, and she was just sneezing and sneezing.

"You could see Benedict trying to stay in character and then, eventually, he was like, 'Can somebody take that dog out, please?'"

Tom admitted that the dog was his, and took Tessa out so Benedict could finish filming his scene.
