Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson Step Out for Date Night at Unforgettable Evening Gala in Los Angeles

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson know how to make a splash on the red carpet!

On Wednesday, April 10, the married couple of more than 35 years stepped out for a date night at the Beverly Wilshire in Los Angeles to attend the 25th An Unforgettable Evening gala, benefiting the Women’s Cancer Research Fund (WCRF).

Wilson, 67, and Hanks, 67, honorary chairs of WCRF, showed their support dressed in coordinated black and pink attire.

The actress wore a long, off-the-shoulder Bohemian ruffle dress paired with strappy pink heels, a bangle bracelet, and a silver floral statement necklace.

She finished off the look with a matching chain-strap purse adorned with floral embellishments, which complemented her husband's fitted black suit and dark gray tie.

According to a press release, the gala event is the organization's "flagship fundraising event featuring extraordinary honorees and tributes to cancer survivors and the memory of those impacted by cancer."

"For 25 years, this event has brought together leaders in entertainment, cancer research, and corporate philanthropy to raise funds for pioneering cancer research conducted at leading medical and academic institutions in California and across the U.S.," the press release said.

Last month, WCRF announced that Demi Moore would receive the Courage Award during the event for "her unwavering support and dedication to raising awareness for breast cancer."

Additionally, the group said philanthropist Wallis Annenberg would receive the Unsung Hero Award for "her innovative dedication to fighting cancer and improving community wellbeing through the Annenberg Foundation."

“As WCRF celebrates the 25th Unforgettable Evening event, we’re thrilled to be honoring Demi Moore, a true icon, and our dear friend and longtime supporter, Wallis Annenberg,” said Jamie Tisch, gala chair and WCRF co-founder.

“This event raises critical funds and awareness for a cause that means so much to all of us," Tisch added at the time.

Hanks and Wilson are regulars on star-studded Hollywood red carpets, from charity events to awards shows, movie premieres and more.

They also regular show support for one another on social media, especially when special milestone occasions roll around — like Hanks' birthday last July.

"Happy Birthday to this man who is my lover, my best friend, my family, the father of my children," Wilson wrote on Instagram, before going on to describe the actor as a typewriter-loving mixologist who is committed to telling the stories of war veterans.
