Tom Brady Reacts To What Bill Belichick Said About Him

Earlier this month, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady said he believed he could play until the age of 50.

“Can Tom Brady play until he’s 50 years old?” Rob Gronkowski asked.

“Wow, that seems to be the really hot question lately. I mean, I don’t find it so difficult. Plus, Florida is kind of a retiree state, so feel like I can play and then just glide into retirement. I think I can. I think it’s a ‘yes,’” Brady said.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, who coached Brady for two decades, shared his thoughts on the idea.

“I’m sure Tom would know better than anybody, so if anybody can do it it’s him,” Belichick said earlier this week.

Belichick’s comments have gotten back to Brady, who responded on his Let’s Go! podcast with Jim Gray and Larry Fitzgerald.

“I’ve always appreciated the encouraging words of Coach Belichick, and it’s served me pretty well,” Brady responded.

Both men were pretty short and to the point with their responses. Perhaps we’ll hear more about their relationship when retirement comes, but for now, don’t expect any longwinded answers from either man on the other.

The Patriots and the Bucs are set to play on Sunday, Oct. 3.
