As if the Tampa Bay passing attack wasn’t deadly enough with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin in 2020, it appears another wide receiver option is reemerging as a legitimate threat in 2021.

According to Buccaneers media outlet PewterReport, Tom Brady and Antonio Brown were “lighting it up” at training camp practice this morning, connecting on a “perfectly timed” out route and a deep ball pass.

Brady recruited Brown to join his Tampa Bay squad midway through the 2020 season. Through eight regular-season games, the four-time All-Pro wideout logged 45 receptions, 483 yards and four touchdowns. He continued that solid play into the postseason, notching eight receptions, 81 yards and two touchdowns — one of which came in the Bucs’ 31-9 Super Bowl victory over the Chiefs.

Back in 2019 when Brady was still a member of the New England Patriots, Brown joined the squad for one game, connecting on a four-yard touchdown pass with the all-time great QB. But, that QB-WR connection was short lived. Brown was cut by the Patriots before the next game amid some concerning sexual assault allegations.

For a stretch of time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Brown was widely considered the No. 1 wideout in the league. If he can get back close to that prime form, the Bucs’ passing attack should be even more unstoppable than it already was in 2020.

Tampa Bay finished No. 2 in league passing yards with 289.1 yards per game.
