Are tolls suspended on Florida highways after Hurricane Ian? See what has changed

Florida suspended tolls on several highways and roads because of Hurricane Ian. The goal was to speed evacuation and emergency response.

Over the weekend, some of those tolls were reinstated, including those on Florida’s Turnpike north of mile marker 249, the I-4 Connector, Osceola Parkway in Central Florida, and the Selmon Expressway in Tampa, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

Tolls were not suspended on Miami-Dade County highways.

Suspended tolls

But tolls are still suspended on several roadways to “continue to provide crucial support and hurricane recovery assistance to the hardest impacted region of Florida,” FDOT says.

Toll-free highways include:

Alligator Alley, the stretch of Interstate 75 that connects Broward and Collier counties.

The Sunshine Skyway, which connects Manatee County to the Tampa Bay area.
