Toledo Opera On Wheels comes to Port Clinton

The public is invited to a Toledo Opera on Wheels’ performance of "Who’s Afraid of the Big, Bad Wolf?" May 9 at 7 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 207 Adams St., Port Clinton.

The Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council is partnering with Toledo Opera to present the touring group’s free 40-minute performance by five Toledo Opera resident artists. They take Opera on Wheels on the road to students in kindergarten through sixth grade, in northwestern Ohio and southeastern Michigan and earlier in the day will perform at area schools.

"Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?" is an engaging adaptation of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s famous opera, "Don Giovanni." This classic fairy-tale reinvents the Don as the infamous Big Bad Wolf. Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs and the Boy Who Cried Wolf must work together to show the Wolf the error of his ways.

All the music and themes are from Don Giovanni. Audiences learn the dangers of bullying, the power of friendship and the ability of music to bring people together.
