In his latest mock draft, ESPN’s Todd McShay has the Kansas City Chiefs shaking things up in a major way by trading up to grab star Alabama wideout Jameson Williams at No. 17.

After losing Tyreek Hill to the Dolphins this offseason, McShay has the Chiefs adding some electric long speed back to the team’s offense by selecting the Crimson Tide’s home-run hitter.

Appearing on “NFL Live” Tuesday, McShay explained his reasoning to Laura Rutledge.

“Without Hill you need another burner, right? I know they brought in JuJu Smith-Schuster he’s a great possession receiver; you’ve got Mecole Hardman … but the closest thing to Tyreek Hill in this draft is Jameson Williams,” McShay said.

The draft analyst noted that the Chiefs may have to wait for Williams to recover from his ACL tear. But he thinks it’s worth it.

“If you get an opportunity to move up, why wouldn’t you if you’re the Chiefs?” McShay asked. “You need a guy who can stretch the field. Who can take a 10-yard cut and turn it into a 30-40-yard gain. And Jameson Williams proved last year at Alabama that he could do it.”

“This guy’s an absolute gamebreaker,” McShay concluded. “… Remember, the Chiefs have 12 picks in this draft, tied with the Jaguars for the most picks. They have a Super Bowl-contending roster, they don’t need 12 players to come in and compete for backend spots.”
