TODAY's Ice Cream Truck Bracket: See which treat won

The best way to tell it's summer is not by the extended hours of sunlight, the blistering heat or gardens in full bloom — it's the sound of the ice cream truck heading in your direction.

The second you hear that familiar tune, you sprint to find cash, run out the door and get the driver's attention before the music starts to fade, Doppler-style, and the truck is too far down the block to catch.

But on a good day — when you do manage to stop the truck — which treat are you picking?

The mesmerizing menu has so many options, it can be hard to decide: Do you go for the SpongeBob Popsicle (which, sadly, no longer has gumball eyes) or are you more of a Push-Up Pop type of person? Fudgsicle or Creamsicle? Strawberry Shortcake or Chocolate Eclair? (RIP, Toasted Almond!)

Enter: TODAY's Ice Cream Truck Bracket. Each day, you’ll pick the ice cream truck treat you prefer, and on Thursday, June 22, we’ll announce the winner — the treat that's the most satisfying on a sweltering summer day.

Results of round one: Fudgesicle beat out Snow Cone with an overwhelming 76% of the vote, while Drumstick easily took it from Creamsicle with 67%. Chocolate Eclair dunked on Strawberry Shortcake with 61% of the vote, while Italian Ice secured the W over Screwball with 75%. The Classic Ice Cream Sandwich eked out a win over Chipwich with 57% of the vote, while Chocolate Soft Serve took down Soft Serve with Sprinkles with 71%. Push-Up Pop just barely surpassed Bomb Pop with 51% of the vote, while the SpongeBob Popsicle sunk the Powerpuff Girls Bar with 69%.

Results of round two: Drumstick snatched the victory from Fudgesicle with 71% of the vote, while Chocolate Eclair overtook Italian Ice with 63%. Meanwhile, Ice Cream Sandwich just slightly surpassed Chocolate-Dipped Soft Serve with 54%, and Push-Up Pop pushed — nay, shoved — SpongeBob Popsicle out of the competition with 80% of the vote.

Results of round three: Drumstick made it to the finals over Chocolate Eclair with 70% of the vote, where it faces off against Ice Cream Sandwich, which easily beat Push-Up Pop with 85%.

Final results: Drumroll, please ... for Drumstick, which is the ice cream truck champion, with 55% of the vote over Ice Cream Sandwich!
