‘Today’ show to feature popular Hilton Head SC chef live. Here’s when and how to watch

Following a visit from the “Today” show in May of this year, which generated much excitement and enthusiasm locally, Hilton Head Island is yet again the topic of conversation, as one of the island’s own locals is set to appear on the NBC network.

Ben Harris, the Resort Executive Chef at the Quarterdeck restaurant in Harbour Town, is scheduled to make a live appearance on the ‘Today’ show on Tuesday.

Chef Harris is expected to demonstrate on live television the process of how Quarterdeck uses fresh, local produce to create their cuisine. Two of these dishes include the restaurant’s charcoal roasted shrimp and street corn elote fingers.

The “Today” show is no stranger to the island.

In May, the “3rd hour of “Today” took to Hilton Head Island’s beaches as the co-anchors of the program were welcomed with southern hospitality and given a glimpse of what a day on Hilton Head entails.

Filming in May took place beachside on the island’s south end and was limited to only 100 attendees, those lucky enough to reserve a spot.

Tickets for the event were sold out within 30 minutes of going on sale following announcement of the much anticipated arrival.

Anchor Craig Melvin, a South Carolina native, was “loving” being on the island and exploring everything there was to do.

During their visit, the co-anchors dined at Quarterdeck and were served a plethora of southern favorites uniquely crafted for the restaurant’s menu.

“It was unbelievable. I had the best corn that I’ve ever had in my life,” said Dylan Dreyer, a “Today” show co-anchor, exclusively to the Island Packet.

The co-anchors of the “3rd Hour of Today” will not be visiting for the July 26 episode.

The “Today” show can be viewed on NBC and streamed through Peacock, DIRECTV STREAM, Hulu + Live TV, fuboTV, Sling TV, and YouTube TV. It can also be viewed live on NBC.com.
