Two Tallahassee Beer Society Membership Cards.

Countless local businesses supported.

And over $13,000 donated to the Leon County Humane Society.

That's a little "By The Numbers" breakdown of what we — nay, YOU — have helped accomplish with your support of the TLH Beer Society Membership Card and all the local businesses on it from Apalachicola to Valdosta.

Ready for Round 3 of unquestionably the coolest membership card in Tallahassee history? Cause we are!

The third iteration of the Tallahassee Beer Society Membership Card is officially done being designed. The proofs have been sent over to our friends at Target Print & Copy here in Tallahassee. And in a matter of weeks, the 1-inch thick, metal Amex-like cards - with a built-in bottle opener (can't forget that!) — will be printed, arrive here in Tallahassee in mid-December and be in your hands right before Christmas.

Just like last year.

Black Friday deal on card

Also just like last year? You can pre-order yours starting on Friday, Nov. 24 — Black Friday — at a discounted rate of $40 at tlhbeersociety.com. And while that deal will last all weekend through Sunday, Nov. 26, at midnight, after Black Friday weekend, the cards go up to $50. (That's right, no price increase in Year 3. We are proud we were able to keep the price point both the same and affordable in 2024 as we did in 2023).

Only unlike last year, the card will have a new look and an all new lineup of local businesses offering deals and perks to cardholders. And in case you are new here, and reading this and asking yourself, "What in the world is this TLH Beer Society Membership Card these clowns are yammering about?"

How the card works

Well, here's the Cliffs Notes version:

Remember those high school booster club cards that your local softball or football team would sell — and by purchasing one you could get deals like 10% off at Super Lube, or BOGO doughnuts at Krispy Kreme? Well, we created an adult version of that card, and all of the businesses on our card are A) Locally owned and B) Support the local craft beer scene or the TLHBS in some way.

Remember that line at the top of the column where we talked about over $13,000 being raised and donated to the Leon County Humane Society because of the card? Well, the Membership Card is also a year-long fundraiser for LCHS. We were able to donate $5,555 to them in Year 1 in 2022, and thanks to the increased popularity and notoriety of the card in Year 2, we just donated $7,500 to LCHS during our 6th Anniversary Party at The Hub At Feather Oaks last month.

It's been an absolutely amazing partnership between us and the LCHS — one that all the local businesses on the card have been quick to support. In the first year, we had just 30 local businesses on the card. Then last year, we reached over 45.

And this year? That number is going to surpass 60.

Perks and donations

We have been working for the last several months to lock in perks and deals from new local businesses here in town, as well as some seasoned ones that have been open for years and wanted in on the action. We aren't going to give you any hints about the newcomers on the card — you're just going to have to visit our website on Black Friday and check out all the 2024 deals for yourself!

But we will say this: Practically everybody who was in last year, is in once again - and some of them even recruited other local business friends of theirs to join.

Ultimately, there's really only three things to know about how the card works once you purchase yours and it arrives in your hands just before Christmas:

All the deals on the 2024 Membership Card become valid on Jan. 1, 2024, and they can be used unlimited times between Jan. 1, 2024, and Dec. 31, 2024.

If you are the proud owner of a 2023 card, on Jan. 1, 2024, that card now becomes one super cool bottle opener that fits in your wallet - but not much else.

If at any point in time you want to know what one of the deals is for a business that's listed on the card, all you have to do is visit our website at tlhbeersociety.com OR scan the QR code on the card itself with your phone, and it'll take you right to all the deals so you can quickly see who's offering what.

One more thing: Once you purchase a card, you will have an option to either have it shipped directly to you for just a few dollars extra, or you can schedule it to be picked up at Oyster City's Tallahassee location for free.

We are super excited to enter Year 3 with so many amazing perks centered around our local craft beer scene and once again benefitting LCHS. And we even locked in some perks at additional places in the cities just outside of Tallahassee that have craft breweries.
