Tipoff time set for Border War men’s basketball game between Kansas and Missouri

Tipoff for the Dec. 10 Border War men’s basketball game between Kansas and Missouri has been set for 4:15 p.m., the athletic departments at MU and KU announced jointly on Wednesday.

The game, to be played at Mizzou Arena, will be shown on ESPN.

The Border War resumed last year after a nine-year hiatus. KU, which entered as a 22-point favorite, upended the Tigers 102-65 at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence.

Ochai Agbaji scored 21 points and Dajuan Harris hit three 3-pointers and tied a career high with 13 points in the first game between the rivals since the 2011-12 season. Christian Braun scored 13 points, while David McCormack contributed 11 points and seven rebounds. Remy Martin had 10 points with five assists.

Javon Pickett scored 19 points, while DaJuan Gordon and Trevon Brazile added 10 each and Sean Durugordon scored 11 for Mizzou, which was trying to win its first game in Allen Fieldhouse since the 1998-99 season, when Norm Stewart coached the Tigers. MU forward Kobe Brown was held to five points points and six rebounds.

KU is 5-4 at Mizzou Arena in the 20-year Bill Self era. KU is 10-0 against MU at Allen Fieldhouse under Self and 1-0 in Dallas.

Game three of the six-year series of games will be back in Allen Fieldhouse during the 2023-24 season. Game four will be at Mizzou Arena in 2024-25. The series will conclude with games at T-Mobile Center in Kansas City in 2025-26 and 2026-27.

A four-game football series between KU and MU will begin on Sept. 6, 2025 in Columbia. It will continue Sept. 12, 2026 in Lawrence; Sept. 6, 2031 at Missouri; and Sept. 11, 2032 in Lawrence.
