Time to vote for your favorite Current-Argus Prep Hero of the Week softball player

Each week during the high school sports season, Current-Argus readers voted for student-athletes for the Prep Hero of the Week Poll.

This week is the final regular season poll as readers can vote for their softball player. Voting for Prep Hero of the Year poll commences next week.

Voting this week ends Wednesday at 11:59 p.m.; the winner will be announced Thursday online at currentargus.com.

This week’s nominees:

Hanna Sanders Carlsbad outfielder: She had three hits against Los Lunas in the opening round of the 5A playoffs against Los Lunas with a .750 batting average.

Analicia Hernandez Carlsbad: The senior wrapped her tenure with the Cavegirls last week during the second round of the playoffs. She had a career on-base percentage of .357. She had a fielding percentage of .714.

Braylee Hunt Loving pitcher/infielder: The eighth grader had a banner year in the pitching circle and at the plate. She had a .603 batting average as the Falcons went undefeated during the A-AA playoffs. She was 15-0 as a pitcher with a 1.93 earned run average. She also struck out 127 hitters.

Brooklyn Rodriguez Loving infielder: The senior ended her career on a winning note she had a .462 batting average last season with three home runs and 24 RBIs. She helped Loving win three straight state trophies.

Kayden Apodaca Artesia: The sophomore smacked a solo home run against the Gallup Bengals in the first game of the 4A state softball championships Saturday in Albuquerque. She had 10 home runs this past season.

Perseis Aguilar Artesia catcher: She contributed to Artesia’s postseason success this season. The senior played in 118 games during her career and finished with 30 home runs and 132 RBIs.
