Yes, it's winter, but here in the Queen City, that means it is time to start signing up the kids for summer camp. From specialty camps focusing on sports, academia and the arts to general outdoor summer fun, you're sure to find the perfect fit for your child. Here's a look at what's on offer.

Some camps are already open for registration, some have announced registration and camp dates and some haven't yet (we've included typical dates for those when possible). Just a reminder: The early birds get the spots.

We'll update this list as the TBAs become announced.

Academy of Cinematic Arts

  • Registration is open now. Classes begin June 10.

The Academy of Cinematic Arts (6049 Yankee Road, Liberty Township) offers summer camps in filmmaking, acting, screenwriting for ages 8-19. Fees start at $300. acafilm.org.

ArtsConnect

  • Registration opens Feb. 12. Classes begin June 3.

ArtsConnect (9158 Winton Road, Springfield Township) offers imaginative and creative weekly themed camps exploring a wide range of topics, including music, visual arts, pottery, sculpture, cooking, woodworking and yoga. Baker Hunt Art and Cultural Center

  • Registration is open now. Classes begin on June 10.

Baker Hunt (620 Greenup St., Covington) offers summer session classes for ages 7-up on a variety of subjects, including baking, cooking, clay, art and fantasy. Fees start at $239. bakerhunt.org.

Bi-Okoto Cultural Center

  • Registration date TBA, typically opens in February. Camps begin in late May.

Bi-Okoto (5601 Montgomery Road, Pleasant Ridge) summer camps explore the rich beauty of Africa through music, dance, African language, theater, visual arts, handmade crafts and field trips. Breakfast and lunch are included. Camps run 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday. bi-okoto.com.

Camargo Racquet Club

Camargo's summer tennis camps (8215 Camargo Road, Madeira) are open to ages 4-17. Tennis Tots camp, for ages 4-7, focuses on motor skills, hand-eye coordination, grips and stroke production. Camp Give

Camp Give (Bell Tower Arts Pavilion, 3270 Glendale Milford Road, Evendale) is a kindness camp for young philanthropists to explore social causes, take field trips to local nonprofits, and includes hands-on service activities to spark a passion for giving. Camp Joy

Camp Joy (10117 Old 3c Highway, Clarksville) offers resident camp programs that provide campers with a strong sense of purpose and value. Campers live in yurts with 13 other campers and 2-3 staff, enjoy three meals per day and participate in outdoor activities, swimming, high ropes courses and more. Specialty camps are also offered for kids with disabilities, immune disorders, cancer, heart disease, juvenile arthritis, tuberous sclerosis, diabetes, cerebral palsy and those grieving the death of a family member or friend. Cincinnati Art Museum

Cincinnati Art Museum (953 Eden Park Drive, Mount Adams) offers eight weeks of exploration, experimentation and creation. Campers experience daily gallery visits, hands-on artmaking, collaborative art installations and more. Each week offers a different theme with activities led by skilled museum educators. Cincinnati Ballet

The Cincinnati Ballet (1801 Gilbert Ave., Walnut Hills) offers a variety of dance camps, including Kids Dance Camp for ages 4-8, Summer Dance Workshops for ages 8-11, Youth Summer Intensives by audition for ages 9-up, and Summer Intensives by audition for ages 12-up. cballet.org.

Cincinnati Country Day

  • Registration opens Jan. 30. Camps begin June 10.

CCD summer programs (6905 Given Road, Indian Hill) offer camps in sports, studio arts, nature, STEM and more. Camps are open to toddlers ages 18-38 months, and ages 3 through grade 8. countryday.net.

Cincinnati Nature Center

  • Registration opens Feb. 6. Camps begin June 3.

CincyNature Summer Camps are week-long, nature day camps for ages 3-13. Camps take place at two sites: Rowe Woods (4949 Tealtown Road, Milford) and Long Branch Farm & Trails (6926 Gaynor Road, Goshen). There are also overnight camps: Wilderness Week for ages 7-13, and S'mores and More for ages 12-15. Overnight camps take place in Goshen. Fees start at $190 per week. cincynature.org.

Cincinnati Parks

  • Registration opens Feb. 25. Camps begin June 12.

Cincinnati Parks' Explore Nature summer camps are open to ages 3.5-15 and offer daily hikes, games, live animal encounters, experiments, and make-and-take projects. Camps take place at Stanbery Park, French Park, Ault Park, Mount Airy Forest, California Woods, Laboiteaux Woods and Trailside. Fees start at $120. cincinnati-oh.gov.

Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park

  • Registration date TBA. Camps begin in early June.

Summer theater camps return to the iconic Eden Park location (962 Mount Adams Circle, Mount Adams) as well as the Mason Community Center (6050 Mason Montgomery Road, Mason). Camps are taught by theatre education professionals and are open to grades 1-12. Camps run 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday. Before and after care is available. cincyplay.com.

Cincinnati Recreation Commission

  • Registration date TBA, typically in February. Camps begin in June.

CRC summer day camps are offered at various recreation centers around the city. Campers enjoy fun weekly themes in a safe, friendly environment. Camp is open to ages 6-12. cincinnati-oh.gov/recreation.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company

  • Registration is open now. Camps begin June 3.

CSC summer camps offer the chance to work with members of Cincinnati Shakespeare's professional resident ensemble, staging scenes, learning tricks of the trade and gaining confidence. Camps take place from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and are broken down by school grade just completed: Grades 1-5, grades 6-8 and grades 9-12. Camps are $295 for one week, $500 for two weeks, $700 for three weeks. cincyshakes.com.

Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Gardens Camps

  • Registration opens Feb. 10 for members and Feb. 11 for general public. Camps begin May 27.

The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden offers in-person, full-day summer camps from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday and are open to children 4 years old through eighth grade. Kids can explore the zoo, experience nature, visit animal ambassadors, enjoy crafts and more. Fees start at $300. cincinnatizoo.org.

Children's Theatre of Cincinnati

Clifton Cultural Arts Center

Clifton Performance Theatre

Camps take place at Liberty Exhibition Hall (3938 Spring Grove Ave., Northside) from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday. These musical theater camps bring to life a different musical each week, including "Aladdin," "The Jungle Book," "The Little Mermaid" and more. An advanced camp for ages 12-17 runs Aug. 5-10. Contardi Tennis Camp

Contardi Tennis Camp takes place at The Club at Harper's Point (8675 E. Kemper Road, Symmes Township) and is open to ages 7-up of all ability levels. Every aspect of the game is thoroughly covered. Drake Planetarium

Drake Planetarium (2020 Sherman Ave., Norwood) hosts space-themed camps for grades K-1, grades 2-3 and grades 4-8. Camps run Monday-Friday with different camps for morning and afternoon. Choose one or stay for both. drakeplanetarium.org.

Ensemble Theatre Company

Ensemble Theatre (1127 Vine St., Over-the-Rhine) offers summer theater intensives for ages 8-19. Junior Summer Intensive runs July 15-26 for ages 8-13, Technical Theatre Summer Intensive runs July 22-26 for ages 15-19, and High School Summer Intensive runs July 29-Aug. 2 for ages 14-19. FC Cincinnati Youth Soccer Camps

Led by a former FCC player, these camps focus on teaching the fundamentals of soccer. This year, campers can up their game with Elite Camps that teach technical, tactical and mental skills from experienced FCC staff and alumni players. Fitton Center

Fitton Center (101 S. Monument Ave., Hamilton) offers a variety of art-themed camps for young artists, writers and performers. Camp categories are broken down by age groups 5-9, 7-12 and 12-16. Most camps run two to three hours and begin in June. fittoncenter.org.

Gorman Heritage Farm

This historic, 122-acre farm (10052 Reading Road, Evendale) offers variety of camps, including farm adventures, veterinary science, pony care, wilderness, farm chef and young farm chef. Most camps run from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Camp fees differ depending on camp theme. gormanfarm.org.

Great Parks Camps

  • Registration is open now. Spring break camps runs March 25-April 4, with summer camps starting on May 28.

Great Parks of Hamilton County offers myriad camps for ages 3-18, including adventure, farm, fishing, horse riding, nature and photography. Camps take place at Winton Woods, Lake Isabella, Woodland Mound, Sharon Woods and Miami Whitewater Forest. Costs start at $180. greatparks.org/daycamps.

Greenacres

  • Registration opens Feb. 7 for Indian Hill and Miami Township camps; March 25 for Lewis Township camps. Camps begin June 10.

Greenacres summer camps (8400 Blome Road, Indian Hill, 6040 Price Road, Miami Township, 7597 State Route 505, Felicity) offer unique programs tailored to be age-appropriate and led by full-time, professional staff. Camps are open to ages 5-13 years. Most camps run $125-$250. green-acres.org/camps.

Kennedy Heights Arts Center

Kennedy Heights Arts Center (6546 Montgomery Road, Kennedy Heights) offers creative and imaginative camps for ages 5-13 exploring visual arts, music, creative writing, photography, acting, animation and design. Kids First Sports Center

Kids First Sports Center (7900 E. Kemper Road, Sycamore Township) offers a variety of traditional day camps (Camp-a-Palooza) and specialty camps for grades K-7 with new adventures and field trips each week. Learning Kitchen

The Learning Kitchen (7659 Cox Lane, West Chester) is a chef-led, hands-on cooking camp focusing on skills and techniques for all skill levels. Mayerson JCC

Museum Camps

Explore science, technology, history and the arts at Cincinnati's museum camps, which take place at three area locations: The Cincinnati Museum Center (1301 Western Ave., Queensgate), Cincinnati Observatory (3489 Observatory Place, Mount Lookout) and Northern Kentucky University (1 Louie B Nunn Drive, Highland Heights). Mutual Arts Center (8222 Monon Ave., Hartwell) offers summer dance and creativity camps for ages 3-10, as well as summer dance intensives for teens. These instructional camps come wrapped in an amazing Cincinnati Reds experience. Camps run 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday and are open to boys and girls ages 6-14. School of Rock

Camps are offered in multiple locations throughout the Cincinnati area. Day camps for boys and girls aged 5-17 are directed by Jack Hermans, a former professional player in Holland and the former head coach of Xavier University's men's soccer team. Spooky Nook

Spooky Nook (601 North B St., Hamilton) offers summer camps that focus on specific youth sports, including basketball, soccer, volleyball, football and field hockey, as well as experience camps. STEAM Studio

The Wyoming Recreation Center (9940 Springfield Pike, Wyoming) offers summer camps in art, music and theater. YMCA of Greater Cincinnati

  • Registration opens March 1.

YMCA summer camps offer kids the opportunity to build confidence, discover strengths and learn new skills while swimming, running, playing and exploring nature. Camps run 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday, with pre- and post-camp available. Camps are open to ages 5-12 who have completed kindergarten. myy.org/programs/day-camps.

YMCA Camp Kern

  • Registration open now. Camps begin early June.

YMCA Camp Kern (5291 State Route 350, Oregonia) offers day and semi-residential camps for ages 5-10, traditional camp for ages 7-14, specialty and theme camps for ages 9-16, horse camp for ages 9-16 and teen and leadership camps for ages 10-16. Day camps allow kids to come to camp during the day and be picked up after the program ends. Semi-residential camps offer day-long programs with opportunities for overnight stays. Ziegler Park Summer Camp

Ziegler Park (1322 Sycamore St., Over-the-Rhine) hosts summer camp weekly (typically from June to August). Campers participate in daily activities including basketball, exercise, swimming, chess instruction and more.
