Time to shine: Top Greater Taunton high school sports performances for Jan. 22-28

TAUNTON— Another week of high school sports action is upon us in the Greater Taunton area.

Last week, several area teams extended their winning streaks while two area wrestling teams came home with tournament wins and local track and field athletes performed well as their respective divisional relays.

Here's a look at the Greater Taunton area's top performing high school athletes from the fourth week of January.

Tuesday

Boys Basketball

Troy Santos led the way for Taunton (9-4, 5-4 Hockomock League) with 23 points while Cyrus Morissette had 18 as the Tigers beat Oliver Ames 64-45 at home in Hockomock action.

Aidan Marando led the way for Dighton-Rehoboth (5-7, 2-6 South Coast Conference) with 15 points while Kensley Macean had 11 as the Falcons beat Case 58-41 at home in SCC action.

Girls Basketball

Chelsea Bousquet led the way for Taunton (11-2, 7-2 Hockomock) with nine points while Taryn Campbell had seven and Cali Melo had six as the Tigers fell 61-35 to Oliver Ames on the road in Hockomock action.

Lucy Latour led the way for Dighton-Rehoboth (1-13, 0-8 SCC) with 16 points as the Falcons fell 56-35 to Case on the road in SCC action.

Gymnastics

Lily Moreira won the beam with a career high of 9.45 while also winning the bars with a 9.1 and finishing second on the floor with an 8.9 as Bridgewater-Raynham/West Bridgewater (4-1, 4-1 Cranberry) beat Cohasset/Norwell 142.85-129.3 at home in Cranberry action. Natalia Flores won the vault with a joint career high of 9.45 while Cecilia Meoli won the floor with a 9.1, finished second on the beam with a 9.3 and finished third on the bars with an 8.5. Lindsay Woodbury finished second in the vault with a 9.35 while Lexi Fabrizio finished third in the vault with a 9.1, Brianna Buckley finished second on the bars with an 8.7 and Grace LaRose finished third on the floor with an 8.8.

Wrestling

Bristol Aggie/Dighton-Rehoboth defeated Bristol-Plymouth (20-4) 44-30 in an MAC dual meet at B-P. Scoring wins for the co-op were Griffin Machie (106), Luis Garcia (113), Brennan Chisholm (120), Ryan Moitoso (138), Josh Hoskins (150), Jack Swan (157), Malakai Risotti (175), Derek Corvelo (215) and Brady Benfeito (285). As for the Craftsmen, Matt Keefe (126), Andrew Daley (132), Jacob Bettencourt (144), Jack Ramondetta (165) and Jarret Marrone (190) all won their respective matches.

Monday

Boys Basketball

Donte Morris led the way for Bristol-Plymouth (4-6, 1-2 Mayflower Athletic Conference) with 25 points while Ryan Donovan had 19 and Greg Aisku had eight as the Craftsmen beat South Shore Tech 64-45 on the road in MAC action.

Girls Basketball

Emma Ericson led the way for Bristol-Plymouth (2-8, 0-3 MAC) with 17 points as the Craftsmen fell 45-28 to Upper Cape Tech at home in MAC action.

Boys Hockey

Bobby Quill, Sean Nasiff and Nate Adduci all found the back of the net while Jack Dion recorded an assist as Bridgewater-Raynham (1-12) fell 6-3 to North Attleboro at home in the MLK Day Tournament conciliation game.

Gymnastics

Lily Moreira won the all around with a total score of 36.6, including a joint career high of 9.4 on the bars and a career high of 9.5 on the floor, as Bridgewater-Raynham/West Bridgewater (3-1, 3-1 Cranberry League) beat Somerset Berkley 142.35-128.15 at home in Cranberry action. Lindsay Woodbury won the vault with a career high of 9.5 and the beam with a joint career high of 9.4 while finishing third in both the floor (8.7) and bars (8.4). Cecilia Meoli finished second in both the beam (9.2) and bars (8.4) and third on the floor (8.7) while Mia Witkus finished second in the vault with a season high of 9.1.
