What time does the Masters start? Weather delays start of first round at Augusta

Due to unfavorable weather conditions, the start of the first round of the 2024 Masters Tournament has been delayed.

Tournament organizers said on X Thursday morning the first round of the Masters will begin at 10:30 a.m. ET off the No. 1 tee and the Honorary Starters Ceremony will begin at 10:10 a.m. ET. Patron gates are scheduled to open at 9:30 a.m. ET.

Updated first round tee times have also been released.

According to the Augusta Chronicle, part of the USA TODAY network, the National Weather Service in Columbia predicted rain Thursday with wind gusts reaching up to 40 mph. The NWS also issued a wind advisory Wednesday that is in effect from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday. Clouds are expected to part later in the day Thursday.

"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects," the NWS said in the advisory. "Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult. Use extra caution."

How to watch 2024 Masters Tournament

For the first two rounds, viewers can tune into ESPN or the ESPN app from 3 p.m. through 7:30 p.m. ET for live TV coverage. For the final two rounds, coverage switches to CBS, with live coverage also starting at 3 p.m. ET.

Online viewers can also stream the action at Masters.com, and select focuses of the tournament will be available on Paramount+ and ESPN+ over the four-day event.

Cord-cutters can also turn to Fubo, which carries CBS and ESPN.
