Tim McGraw Grants Fan’s Wish by Assisting With Baby Gender Reveal Onstage: ‘Tim or Faith?’

Tim McGraw played an important role in a young couple’s parenthood journey during a recent performance for his Standing Room Only tour.

As shown in an Instagram video the country music star shared on Saturday, May 18, the father of three was surrounded by cheering fans mid-performance when he noticed a man holding up a large sign in the crowd. McGraw, 57, urged the man to bring the sign closer so that he could read its request, which asked in large blocky letters, “TIM MCGRAW will you do our GENDER REVEAL!?”

“Oh my gosh, we have a gender reveal,” the “Something Like That” singer informed the crowd. He agreed to help out and took the envelope from the couple, waving it in front of his fans to fuel their excitement.

“And, the winner is—let’s see if it’s gonna be Tim or Faith,” McGraw said, indicating that he would use either his first name or that of his wife, fellow country star Faith Hill, when he revealed the baby’s sex. McGraw then opened the envelope and grinned as he exclaimed, “It’s a boy! We got a Tim! Congratulations, guys.”

In the video, the man who was holding the sign smiled and wept as he absorbed the news. His partner then asked McGraw to sign the announcement, which the “Live Like You Were Dying” singer quickly agreed to do.

“Pretty sure this is the first time I’ve done a gender reveal at a show 😂,” McGraw wrote in his Instagram caption.

Many of the fans who commented on the Instagram video seemed nearly as excited as McGraw had been to help out.

“I was at this concert last night and saw this,” one fan wrote. “How awesome of you to do this. And what a great memory for them to share with their son!! 😍.”

Another fan who attended the show also said it was “a great moment!”

“That was pretty cool. 😍,” one person wrote as another agreed, writing, “This is so awesome…❤️.”

Several people who commented said there would be no need for the expecting couple to wonder what they should call their baby.

“This is AWESOME!!! Name the kid Tim now,” one fan wrote, adding, “You have to!! :).”

“He had to be named Tim now lol,” another fan agreed.

“Better name that boy Tim now! Lol!🙌🥰,” another person urged.
