TikTok loves this $16K house in Missouri. The problem? Location, location, location

Affordable houses can be tempting if you don’t mind the cost of fixing them up.

Homes like this entire castle in Cleveland, Ohio, that’s on the real estate market for $249,900 are desirable to those with cash to burn on expensive repairs.

And then there’s this residence in Bertrand, Missouri, with its best aspect the price: $16,000.

The price, and the fact that it was a former “turn of the century bank building,” caught the attention of a popular page on TikTok called “Houses That Are Cool.”

“Brick structure with open floor plan for someone who can envision renovation into single family residence, coffee shop, antique shop or something else to keep this part of Bertrand’s history alive,” the listing on Zillow.com says. “Building has new electric panel and basic wiring done, new front door also.”

Going through the photos, it’s easy to see there is a ton of potential in the 1,560-square-foot brick building – especially when thinking of it as a small, studio home space.

The “not cool” part that “Houses That Are Cool” pointed out?

“It’s in the middle of nowhere Missouri,” the creator of the page said.

That shouldn’t stop a future owner from snagging this hidden gem, though.
