14 months ago, the golfing world wondered if Tiger Woods would ever walk again following a horrific car accident.

Then, just two weeks ago, Woods spurred rumors he might be teeing it up at Augusta National for the Masters. He made the flight up to Augusta along with his son, Charlie, for a practice round.

After performing well, Tiger made the decision to come back for another practice session in the days leading up to the tournament. Well, when the time came for him to tee off on Thursday, he was ready.

Woods fired a one-under, 71 in his first competitive round in over 500 days and sat just four shots off the lead. Friday’s round was more of a struggle for him as he bogeyed four of his first five holes to move to three-over.

In danger of missing the cut, he played two-under from that point on to steady himself and card a two-over, 74. That put him at one-over for the tournament, but most importantly, he made the cut.

Now he’ll take the course with a fan favorite: Kevin Kisner. The duo tees off at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Coverage doesn’t start on CBS until 3:00 p.m., but the action can be found on ESPN+ before then.

Both Woods and Kisner sit nine shots off the lead held by Scottie Scheffler. The new No. 1 player in the world, Scheffler has been dominating the field and leads the next-closest competitor by five shots heading into the weekend.
