Tiger Woods made his triumphant return to professional golf on Thursday, playing in the opening round of the Masters at Augusta. It was a long road to get there.

Woods’ car accident in February of 2021 left his legs severely injury. At first, doctors feared he wouldn’t ever play again. But Woods wasn’t willing to accept such a fate.

In just over 500 days time, Woods not only returned to the course to play at the Masters; he shot a first-round 71 at Augusta.

Woods has won so many competitions throughout his illustrious career that he keeps his standard pretty high. However, he admitted on Thursday that his comeback feels like a “victory.”

Reporter: “Tiger, I realize you only define victory one way and that’s winning the tournament, but was this the equivalent of a victory to you, just showing up and being bable to compete like you did?”

Woods: “Yes.”

Is it getting dusty in here or is that just us? We’re incredibly happy Tiger is back. And how fitting is that he returned for the Masters?

Believe it or not Woods looks like a legitimate contender with his opening round in the books. He’s currently just four shots off the first place score.

Woods making it through the weekend would prove to be one of the most exciting sporting events in recent memory. For now, though, he’s simply happy he is playing in the first place.
