Thursday's Top Prep Performers from flag football, boys water polo and girls tennis

Highlights from Thursday in high school sports:

GIRLS FLAG FOOTBALL

  • Oak Park defeated Camarillo 12-0 to win the first league title. Both teams, along with several area programs, will finish their inaugural seasons at the Ventura County Championship Tournament at Camarillo High on Saturday.

  • Royal defeated Newbury Park 13-12.

  • Oxnard defeated Pacifica 25-12 to finish the regular season 14-6 overall and 4-3 in league play.

  • Channel Islands defeated Ventura 19-13.

  • Rio Mesa lost to Dos Pueblos 33-14.

BOYS WATER POLO

  • Ventura lost to San Marcos 10-9 in the final of the Channel League tournament. The Cougars (18-8) earned a share of the league title, with San Marcos getting the No. 1 seed out of the league for the CIF-SS Division 2 playoff pairings, which will be released Saturday morning. Evan Augusta had three assists, a block and a steal, Owen Fonua had two goals, three assists, a block and a steal, Merrick Giles finished with three goals, three steals, an assist and two drawn ejections, Cole Loomis had two goals, two steals, two drawn ejections and a block, Giano DelNagro had an assist and a drawn ejection, Dylan Bird had a goal and a steal, and Ian Moore had a goal, two steals and an assist.

GIRLS TENNIS

  • Oak Park's Niyati Guram won the singles titles at the Coastal Canyon League tournament. Natalie VonBieren and Sarah Schneider of Camarillo won the doubles championship.
