West De Pere sectional

De Pere’s Grady Lenn won the 1,600 (4:16.4) and the 3,200 (9:31.78) with Aiden Cartier finishing first in the 100 hurdles (:15.12) and the long jump (21-9.75) as the Redbirds won the sectional title with 134 points.

Hortonville’s Ben Smith won the shot put (65-7.5) and the discus (208-0).

Kaukauna won the girls sectional title and was led by Sydney Fauske, who won the 1,600 (5:13.18) and the 3,200 (11:23.23). Ashwaubenon’s Thea Kral also swept the throws, finishing first in the discus (152-5) and the shot put (42-8.25).

Notre Dame’s Joseph Hunt won a pair of events and was a part of the winning 3,200 relay team as the Tritons earned the team title.

James Flanigan was also a double-winner for Notre Dame, winning the shot put with a toss of 58-6, while also claiming the discus with a throw of 181-01.

Lydia Merrick won three individual events and was part of the winning 1,600-meter relay team as the Irish nosed out Xavier for the team title. Merrick won the 100 hurdles in 15.98 seconds, the 300 hurdles in 45.10 seconds as well as the high jump with a leap of 5-7. The 1,600 relay team won in a time of 4:00.98.

Notre Dame’s Danika Apple won two individual events, the 100 (:12.44) and the 200 (:25.46), and was part of the winning 400-meter relay team (:48.39).

Xavier’s Lilie Fouts was a double-winner, taking first in the 1,600 run in 5:03.55, as well as the 3,200 in 11:04.78.

Another double-winner was Fox Valley Lutheran’s Emma Nilson. She won the shot put with a throw of 41-7.25, and the discus with an effort of 129-6.

KAUKAUNA - The Ghosts improved to 23-0 on the season and won their 105th consecutive game in the regional win over the Pirates.

Karly Meredith hurled a no-hitter and struck out 11 to get the win. Jozy Ebben had three hits and Taryn Christopher had a solo home run to lead the offense.

Ashwaubenon 9, Kimberly 8

ASHWAUBENON - Berritt Herr hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh to propel the Jaguars past the Papermakers. She also earned the win in the circle.

Kimberly was led by Kathryn VanHandel, who was 2-for-4 with a home run, and Paige Schreck, who was 2-for-4.

Bella Ellestead took the loss.

Green Bay Preble 5, Appleton North 0

GREEN BAY - Katie Geydoshek tossed a no-hitter with 13 strikeouts to lead the Hornets past the Lightning in a Division 1 regional championship game at Finger Road Park.

Hannah Smith had two hits to lead the Hornets.

Watertown 12, Neenah 1

WATERTOWN - The Goslings’ Cali Craig-Snell and Alyx Johnson combined to pitch a one-hitter in Watertown’s win over the Rockets.

Division 2

Freedom 9, Denmark 1

FREEDOM - Peyton VandeLoo scattered five hits to get the win and the Irish scored seven runs in the third inning to take control and cruise to the win over the Vikings.

Carrington Klug, Addie Murphy and Kourtney Moeller all had two hits apiece with Marlee Smith, Moeller and Isabelle Day all finishing with two RBI apiece for Freedom (22-6).

Audrey Bauget had two hits to lead Denmark (20-7).

NEW LONDON - The Bulldogs outlasted Lakeland to advance in 12 innings.

LUXEMBURG - The fifth-seeded Thunder pulled off the upset of the top-seeded Spartans.

MOSINEE - Marissa Tomashek had a three-run double in the Hawks’ loss to Mosinee.

MISHICOT - Mishicot improves to 27-0 with the win over the Storm.

Random Lake 3, St. Mary Catholic 2

RANDOM LAKE - The Rams scored single runs in the first three innings to build a 3-0 lead and then held on for the victory.

St. Mary Catholic scored both of its runs in the fourth inning on a two-run single by Nevaeh Saringer.

Rams pitcher Jayla Harter retired the side in order over the final three innings to close out the regional final win. She allowed five hits and struck out six.

Saringer pitched six innings and took the loss. She allowed seven hits and struck out two.

Danika Eberhardt hit a solo home run for Random Lake.

SMC finishes the season with a 14-10 overall record.

Division 5

Almond-Bancroft 10, Sevastopol 3

ALMOND - Addison Schauske accounted for the Pioneers’ runs with a three-run home run in the loss to the Eagles.

Schauske and Naomi Rikkola each had two hits. Rikkola had a double and a single.

Schauske took the loss for Sevastopol.

BASEBALL

De Pere 10, Sheboygan North 0

DE PERE - The Redbirds scored early and often en route to the five-inning win as they secured the Fox River Classic Conference championship.

De Pere jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, highlighted by a Milo Upton three-run home run. The Redbirds added three runs in the second as Easton Arendt had a two-run double in the inning.

De Pere went up 9-0 in the third on an Axel Donaldson RBI single. The Redbirds got the walk-off hit by Nathan Busse in the fifth to win the conference.

Landon Raygo pitched four quality innings to earn the win. Raygo allowed two hits while striking out two and walking one. Busse pitched one scoreless inning of relief.

De Pere (21-3, 16-2) received the top-seed in the sectional and will host the winner of the West De Pere and Ashwaubenon game next Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at De Pere.

Notre Dame 4, Manitowoc 3

GREEN BAY - The Tritons finish the regular season 20-6 overall and 13-5 in the FRCC with the walk-off win over the Ships.

Micah Marzec had a double and drove in a run for Notre Dame. Bryson Koehne and Avery Duncan also drove in runs.

Aaron Heyroth was the winning pitcher.

Kimberly 7, Hortonville 2

KIMBERLY - The Papermakers struck for five runs in the first inning and never trailed in their win over the Polar Bears.

Bryson Vieth and Brady Coons both had two hits for Kimberly. Brady Koester and Ben Johnston both drove in two runs. Koester also had a double.

Bryce Mischler pitched the first five innings, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk. He struck out five. Connor Olson pitched the final two innings.

Kael Konrad started for Hortonville and took the loss.

Turner Kuhke had a double for Hortonville.

Neenah 6, Fond du Lac 4

FOND DU LAC - The Rockets finished Fox Valley Association play with a 13-5 record after defeating the Cardinals.

Mack Krause pitched five innings, allowing one run while striking out three to get the win. Krause also had two hits.

Payton Miller had a hit, drew two walks and drove in two runs for Neenah.

New London 6, Wrightstown 2

WRIGHTSTOWN - Trailing 2-0 after three innings, the Bulldogs took charge with two in the fourth, one in the fifth and three in the seventh to advance in WIAA Division 2 regional action.

Tomas Fields doubled twice and drove in four runs, while Logan Ten Haken and Ayden Kanaman were 2-for-3 to pace New London.

Trent Vande Hey had two hits to power the Tigers, who finish 14-9 on the year.

Fields earned the win on the mound, pitching 6⅓ innings while allowing six hits and two earned runs and striking out 10.

Trevor Vande Hey took the loss, pitching five innings and allowing six hits, three earned runs and two walks while striking out five.

Freedom 6, Oconto Falls 1

FREEDOM - The Irish opened up WIAA Division 2 tournament action by shutting down the Panthers.

Carson Clausen pitched 5⅔ innings of three-hit baseball to earn the victory. He struck out 11 and walked two. At the plate, Clausen also banged out two hits and two RBI, while Matt Eberhardt also finished with two hits, including a double.

Clausen’s 11 strikeouts puts him at a school record for 100 strikeouts in a season. His two hits also put him at a school-record 40 hits in a season. With the win, the Irish improve to 14-11. They will take on No. 1 ranked Mosinee on Tuesday.

Gibraltar 4-2, Kewaunee 3-4

KEWAUNEE - The Vikings and Storm combined to play 18 innings of baseball with the two earning a doubleheader split.

Gibraltar won Game 1 in 11 innings. Liam Lindenberg was 2-for-4 with two RBI, while Cameron Munao, Braden Kita and Marshall Maltby added two hits each.

Aaron Brey picked up the win in relief, pitching the final three innings, allowing three hits, one walk and two strikeouts.

Ethan Paplham and Connor Kilgore had three hits each for Kewaunee, while Collin Spranger and Toby Kunkel added two each.

In the nightcap, Kewaunee scored three in the first on Brett Paulsen’s three-run homer and one in the second to set the tone. Gibraltar did rally for a run in the fifth and one in the seventh.

Paplham was 2-for-2 for Kewaunee, while Brey was 2-for-3 for the Vikings.

Gibraltar, Kewaunee and Algoma finish in a tie atop the Packerland Conference standings, all at 12-4.

Oconto 8, Crivitz 0

OCONTO - The Blue Devils scored two in the second, three in the fifth and three in the sixth to earn the WIAA regional win.

Cooper Campshure powered Oconto, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Joey Bailey was 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Devon Bostwick earned the win on the mound, pitching seven innings and allowing just three hits and three walks, while striking out eight.

Bonduel 12, Iola-Scandinavia 0

BONDUEL - The Bears clinched the Central Wisconsin Conference-East title with the win over the Thunderbirds.

Bonduel put away the game away with a seven-run fifth inning.

Cade Johnson, Easton Reinke and Charlie Tauchen each had two hits. Tauchen and Reinke both had doubles. Noah Weier and Reinke each drove in two runs.

Johnson pitched the first four innings to get the win. Brodie Hartman pitched the fifth inning.

Bonduel ends the regular season with a 19-3 record overall and 13-1 in the CWC-East.

Carter Melum took the loss for Iola-Scandinavia.

GIRLS SOCCER

Appleton North 7, Hortonville 0

HORTONVILLE - Brinley Dunsirn had two goals and two assists to lead the Lightning in the win.

Kalli Drexler added two goals, while Madi Hacker, Claire Zulewski and Taylee Jones each added one. Natalie Roe had three assists for North.

North keeper Serena Jaber tallied the shutout.
