Thrill-seekers scale 520ft Blackpool Tower for stunning Red Arrows selfie

Two thrill-seekers scaled the Blackpool Tower for a stunning selfie during a Red Arrows flypast.

Wing Commander Adam Collins hung from the landmark’s flagpole - 518ft from the ground - and saluted his RAF display team as they flew overhead.

Russ Edwards oversaw the daredevil snap that was taken during Blackpool’s annual air show.

Armed with a 360-degree camera on a long fibre pole that was tethered to him, he was able to create the ultimate “selfie stick” to grab the perfect shot.

Around 200,000 people attended the two-day event as crowds packed Blackpool to see the daring displays.
