Three people being sought for questioning in Cumberland County homicide

Three people are wanted for questioning in the fatal November shooting of a Fayetteville father who was tracking his stolen trailer.

According to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, investigators want to speak with Amber Byrne, 35, of Bunnlevel, and Kevin Lambert Brewington, 34, and Dewey Lee Smith, 42, both of Fayetteville in the Nov. 27 the killing of Jossiel Rodriquez-Perez, 40.

According to police and 911 calls, Rodriguez-Perez and his friends were in the 3000 block of Smith Road attempting to confront the individuals who stole the trailer when someone opened fire on the group, killing Rodriguez-Perez.

In a Dec. 6 news release from the Sheriff's Office announced it was seeking Byrne and William Keith Wilson II, 40, of Stedman for questioning. Wilson is no longer being sought, the Sheriff's Office said.

The stolen trailer was recovered by deputies Dec. 8, according to a news release.
