Three NEW Oatmeal Recipes you Have to Try

Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t have anything against the classic apple cinnamon oatmeal or my personal favorite combination of peanut butter and banana. Even so, it’s fun to mix things up now and then. Here are a few of the ways I’ve been loving my oatmeal lately:

Berry Apple Crumble Oats

Fresh berries are currently out of season so I’ve been using the frozen kind that are equally delicious and much cheaper. To make, simply add half a cup of frozen berries to your oats along with half a sliced apple and cook like you normally wood. For seasonings, add cinnamon, nutmeg, and a dash of maple syrup for that crumble flavor. Top with yogurt (or ice cream) of your choice and enjoy!

Pear, Chokecherry, and Tahini Oats

This is a tasty twist! Slice a pear and cook in the oatmeal with ginger, nutmeg, and a dash of cinnamon. When done, top with chokecherry jam or another tart fruit of your choice and drizzle a bit of tahini or nut butter of your choice on top.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Oatmeal Waffles

Okay this may be cheating a bit but I’ve been making waffles with my normal oatmeal mix and then just thickening the batter with half a banana, a dash of nut milk, and a teaspoon of baking powder. Blend everything together and pour in a waffle iron or make pancakes! I like topping this with the rest of the banana, some chocolate chips, and a healthy dose of peanut butter. Yum!

If you love the flavor of your current oats but want to mix it up on the texture, try making pancakes, waffles, or baked oatmeal with the same ingredients you normally do!
