Hundreds without power due to high winds in Northern Westchester, Putnam

As the region was under a high wind advisory until 6 p.m. Sunday, thousands of NYSEG customers were without power due to high winds which downed trees and power lines in Northern Westchester and Putnam counties. By the end of Sunday, most of the service had been restored.

According to NYSEG, as of 1:30 a.m. Monday, 118 customers in Putnam were without power

Among the utility's Westchester customers as of 1:30 a.m. Monday, 176 customers were without power.

Con Ed and Orange & Rockland recorded minimal outages Sunday, almost none weather-related.

"The winter storm continues to impact many of our service divisions," a NYSEG tweet at 9 p.m. Sunday said. "More than 2,000 customers in Dutchess, Putnam and Westchester counties are without power. Crew will continue working to restore service through the night."
