The manufacturers of Walmart’s Great Value brand Twist & Shout cookies are issuing a recall for certain boxes as the cookies may contain foreign material. Shearer's Foods, LLC voluntarily recalled the Strawberry Creme Sandwich Cookies after they were found to have plastic pieces inside on March 21, 2024, according to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).

The recalled cookies, which are Great Value’s private-label version of Oreos, were sold at Walmart stores in Oklahoma. This recall impacts more than 1,000 packages of cookies—however, only the Strawberry Creme Twist & Shout cookies are subject to the recall. No other Twist & Shout variety have been reported to contain plastic pieces at this time.

To check if you have the recalled cookies, you’ll need to look at the packaging for the following "Best If Used By" date and UPC:

  • BEST IF USED BY: SEP 11 2024

  • CB03

The FDA has not yet reported any injuries or illnesses caused by eating the recalled cookies. However, if you have the recalled Strawberry Creme Sandwich Cookies, you should not consume them. Instead, throw them away or take them to your local Walmart store for a refund.

It’s unclear if the cookies are still being sold at Oklahoma Walmart stores as the FDA only classified this recall on April 18—nearly a month after the manufacturer initiated it. So, be sure to check the Strawberry Creme Twist & Shout package before you buy the Great Value product, or opt for another flavor variety for the time being.
