If you don’t want to spend a ton of money on a big-screen television for streaming your fave shows, a projector is the next best thing. Not only can it help save you some money, but it also doesn’t take up that much space.
That’s part of the reason why Amazon shoppers have zeroed in on the Dr. J Professional Mini Projector. With 3,700 five-star reviews and over 9,000 customer ratings, it’s the No. 1 best-selling projector on Amazon, and for good reason. Although it’s not big in size (no bigger than the size of a hand, apparently), this device packs quite a punch when it comes to quality and functionality.

For one, you can use it both indoors and outdoors. It actually comes with a 100-inch projector screen, which is great if you don’t have enough blank wall space. The picture quality is also not too shabby at 1080p resolution. Additionally, it’s capable of connecting to your phone and video-game devices thanks to its handy HDMI outlet. Not to mention, there’s even a space for your USB, memory card and computer.
Now, apart from the price and overall picture quality, many shoppers pointed out how easy this projector was to set up.
“I am so impressed with this projector,” one five-star reviewer wrote. “I didn’t have high expectations because of the price. However, I have owned more expensive ones, and none of them compared. It was surprisingly easy to use. We had it playing within minutes. I used it on a few different surfaces, all of them had great picture quality.”
Another shopper expressed a similar sentiment and added how it didn’t feel like a “cheaply made item.”
“The picture is pretty good compared to other projectors I’ve seen (at restaurants, friends that have them, etc.),” they wrote. “I think I just need to play around with it and focus [the projector] a bit better. It is also very lightweight and small, but don’t let that fool you as being a cheaply made item. I really recommend this projector because, not only is the picture quality great, the price for it is very inexpensive.”
At the same time, multiple reviewers did note issues with the sound quality and connectivity to certain streaming programs. However, this did not appear to be a major concern with the majority of reviewers.
