Third person killed in big rig vs. Toyota crash identified by Fresno County coroner

A Riverdale man has died of injuries suffered in mid-November when he was involved in a collision near Caruthers while driving a big rig, the Fresno County coroner reported Monday.

He was identified as Jose Antonio Pina Inguez, 28.

Also killed in the Nov. 14 collision and previously identified were Gerardo Garcia, 28, of Caruthers, and Rafael Hernandez, 68, of Fresno.

The big rig, driven by Pina Inguez, was traveling north on Jameson Avenue and failed to stop at the intersection with Kamm Avenue, the California Highway Patrol reported. Garcia, in a Toyota Camry, had the right-of-way. Hernandez was a passenger in the truck when the collision took place about 7 a.m. Garcia and Hernandez died at the scene. Pina Inguez was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
