Third annual Mother's Day Outdoor Market in York will feature more than 25 businesses

The Mother’s Day Outdoor Market is back!

Alexandria Keener Hammond, owner of My Girlfriend's Wardrobe and Preston & Jayne will be hosting the third annual Mother’s Day Outdoor Market this year.

For nearly 30 years, Keener Hammond and her family attended the Olde York Street Fair, a Mother’s Day tradition in downtown York since 1975.

In 2022, when she found out the city would no longer be hosting the event, Keener Hammond took matters into her own hands and organized her first outdoor Mother's Day Market.

For the third year in a row, The Mother’s Day Outdoor Market will take place on North Beaver Street between West Philadelphia and West Market Street (between White Rose Bar & Grill and Holy Hound Taproom) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

An opportunity to celebrate mothers and enjoy a day out with family and friends, the market will feature a variety of small businesses set up on the street selling items including flowers, candles, handmade stuffed animals, handmade jewelry, beauty products and more. Casual street family photos will also be offered by local photographers.

With a total of 29 small local businesses, this is the largest market event yet.

“This is our way of celebrating and honoring all the moms out there,” said Keener Hammond. “We are excited to help families and small business owners connect with new products and services, not to mention make new memories with people they love.”

Businesses all over the city will be open in the Market District, Royal Square District, and WeCo District. Businesses such as Refillism will be offering their own Mother’s Day special to tie into the fun events happening downtown.
