Things to do this weekend: Christian, jazz, bluegrass and country music — and a circus

Wichita will be filled with music festivals this weekend, including a Christian show at Intrust Bank Arena, a jazz festival at Friends University and a blues festival at the Corporate Hills Marriott. —

Winter Jam

7 p.m. Friday, Intrust Bank Arena, 500 E. Waterman

The annual Winter Jam concert tour, which features a full lineup of Christian bands, lands at Wichita’s Intrust Bank Arena on Friday. It will feature headliners We the Kingdom and Jeremy Camp along with Andy Mineo, Disciple, Austin French and Anne Wilson. The show starts at 7 p.m., and doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets aren’t required. Jazz Festival at Friends

Friday and Saturday, Friends University, 2100 W. University

Friends University is putting on its 30th annual Jazz Festival this weekend, and it will feature live performances by well-known regional performers. The festival, which runs Friday and Saturday on the Friends campus, will start on Friday with a concert by the Friends Jazz Vocal Ensemble along with accomplished Kansas City vocalist and pianist Justin Binek. Saturday’s events will conclude with a performance from the Friends Concert Jazz Band opening for The Project H, which is fronted by Kansas City composer Ryan Heinlein. Friday’s concert is at 7:30 p.m. at Riney Fine Arts Center. Tickets are $9 for adults and $6 for students and seniors. Saturday night’s headlining concert also starts at 7:30 p.m. in Riney Fine Arts Center. Tickets are $16 for adults and $12 for seniors and students. Bluegrass Festival

The Kansas Bluegrass Association is putting on its 33rd Annual Winter Bluegrass Festival this weekend, and the two-day event will feature performers like Red Mountain Boys, The Hunt Brothers, Kansas Heart, Matchsellers, and Jennylou and the Buckaroos. The festival happens Friday and Saturday at the Corporate Hills Marriott, and two-day tickets are $75, Saturday-only tickets are $50 and Friday evening-only tickets are $40. They’re free for children 16 and under with a paid adult ticket. Tickets are available at the door. The festival also includes jam sessions and activities for kids. TikTok star at WSU

7 p..m. Friday, Wichita State University’s Hughes Metropolitan Complex, 5015 E. 29th St. North

Chris Olsen, a TikTok influencer who has nearly 12 million followers on the platform, will appear at Wichita State University on Friday. His show, called An Evening with Chris Olsen, happens at 7 p.m. at Wichita State University’s Eugene M. Hughes Metropolitan Complex. Olsen also is an actor, digital creator and classically trained singer and dancer, and he was on the Discovery+ miniseries “The Book of Queer.” The event, which is open to ages 12 and older, will be run as a moderated discussion followed by an audience question and answer session. Tickets are free for WSU students, $15 for WSU faculty and staff, and $25 for members of the general public. The circus is in town

The Carden International Spectacular Circus is making its return to Park City’s Hartman Arena this weekend. Showtimes are at 6:30 p.m. Friday and at 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $9 for all ages on Friday. On Saturday and Sunday, they’re $25 to $30 for adults, $10 for ages 2 to 12. Attendees can come one hour before each show and participate in activities like elephant, camel and horse rides, inflatables, face painting and more. Randall King in concert

8 p.m. Friday, The Cotillion, 11120 W. Kellogg

Country music singer Randall King will be in Wichita on Friday to perform at The Cotillion. Texas-born King, known for songs like “Mirror, Mirror,” will perform after his opening act, Braxton Keith, who takes the stage at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $17 at thecotillion.com
