This Easter weekend is packed with egg hunts, live music and more, as well as a Hitchcock classic onstage, comedy and a chance to meet this year's Mule Day Queen.

1. Easter Egg Hunts, jams and more

This Easter weekend will have many fun events for the family, including egg hunts, photo ops, petting zoos and a whole lot more.

Northside Baptist Church, 127 Theta Pike, will host its Easter Picnic & Egg Hunt starting at 11 a.m. Saturday. The event will include free food, games and other family-friendly activities.

Knob Creek Baptist Church, 2054 Knob Creek Road, will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt starting at 11 a.m. Saturday. Lunch will also be served during the event.

Rolling Hills Community Church, 6111 Cayce Lane, will host its Easter Jam from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The event will include food, pony rides, love music, bounce houses and an Easter egg hunt.

In Mt. Pleasant, the city's Parks & Recreation Department will host its 34th annual Easter Egg Hunt starting at 10 a.m. Saturday at 501 Gray Lane. This is Mt. Pleasant's longest running event, which includes eggs, games, prizes and maybe even a visit from the Easter Bunny.

In Santa Fe, Mingo Branch Farm, 4719 Mingo Branch Road, invites animal lovers to its Easter on the Farm event starting at 10 a.m. Saturday. Guests will have the opportunity to interact with many of the farm's animals, including bunnies, chicks and ducks.

There will also be an Easter egg hunt, and the farm's market will also be open selling items such as local honey, farm-raised eggs and more. The animals are also available for purchase, which will include a detailed manual to help owners care for their new animals.

2. 'The 39 Steps' final run by Watershed

Watershed Public Theatre will host its final performances of an Alfred Hitchcock classic this weekend.

Watershed's production of "The 39 Steps" will take the stage starting at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Columbia State Community College's Cherry Theater, 1665 Hampshire Pike. There will also be a 2 p.m. matinee Saturday.

The production is described as a "mix of a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have The 39 Steps." Featuring over 150 characters all played by a cast of four, with set pieces that include an onstage plane crash, missing fingers and some old-fashioned romance.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $10 for students and/or children. Tickets are available at www.WatershedPublicTheatre.org.

3. Art and tea with the Mule Day Queen at Baxter's

Grab a cup of tea and visit with this year's Mule Day Queen on Friday, as well as browse Baxter's Mercantile's latest exhibit honoring the Orman collection Saturday.

Baxter's Mercantile, 808 S. Garden St., will be the spot to visit as Columbia gears up for its 50th Mule Day, plus a whole lot more.

On Friday, Baxter's will host a special meet and greet with this year's Mule Day Queen Anissa Grimes from 3-7 p.m. The event will also feature Mule Day Queens of the past, as well as tea and sweet treats for guests, as well as some after-hours shopping.

On Saturday, Baxter's will host a special art exhibit from The Orman Collection from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. portraying much of Columbia's history through iconic black-and-white photographs. There will also be gourmet food items provided, as well as more than 50 local vendors to shop.

4. Victoria Jackson comedy at The Mulehouse

The Mulehouse will host a night of standup comedy from "Saturday Night Live" alum Victoria Jackson, who will take the stage starting at 8 p.m. Saturday.

The Mulehouse, 812 S. High St., will welcome "Saturday Night Live" alum Victoria Jackson this weekend starting at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Jackson, also a Nashville-based comedian, was featured on the long-running "Live from New York!" show for six seasons, as well as appearing twenty times on "The Tonight Show."

In addition to an evening of comedy, Jackson will also have a special Q&A session where audience members can interact. Saturday's show will also feature a set by special guest Lee Hardin.

5. Live entertainment

Shannon McCue and Sean Maynard will perform at Gabe's Smokehouse, 115 E. James M. Campbell Blvd., for the restaurant's second anniversary starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Tom Saffell & Robert Johnson will perform at McCreary's Irish Pub & Eatery, 814 S. Main St., starting at 7 p.m. Friday.

Nettie & The Delta Boy with Tyler Hutten will perform at The Boondox, 3543 Highway 431, starting at 7 p.m. Friday.

Khris Glaring will perform at The Tilted Mule, 102 Depot St., starting at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Def Leprechaun Band will perform at McCreary's Irish Pub & Eatery, 814 S. Main St., starting at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Box of Rox will perform at Fozzy's Bar & Grill, 150 Stephen P. Yokich Parkway in Spring Hill, starting at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Buck Sixx will perform at The Boondox, 3543 Highway 431, starting at 8 p.m. Saturday.
