Thibodaux family to compete on Family Feud

A Thibodaux family's camping tradition will place them on the Family Feud stage.

Andrew Benoit-Naquin, 25, and four family members will be on the show, Wednesday, May 22, at 4:30 p.m. on channel 4 WWL, episode 180. The five had played family feud together at their uncle's campground every summer in Grand Isle throughout their childhood. The campground was eventually sold, and the family tradition fell to the wayside.

In September of 2018 his cousin, Kimberly Robichaux, posted that Family Feud was holding auditions in Alabama. As a joke, she said they should redo their childhood tradition.

"She posted a link to their audition page on Facebook and tagged one or two of my cousins in it," Naquin said. "She said, 'oh, haha, remember when we used to play this?'"

For Naquin, it was no joke.

"I called her immediately and said 'no, we really should do it," he said with a laugh.

They had to send in an audition tape first and you can see their audition tape here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZbWOfcBJ0c.

It took the family three tries but persistence paid off. The family will compete tomorrow, and then return for another episode in September. To look up where to watch the episode go here: https://www.tvguide.com/tvshows/family-feud/1030252220/.
