Theatre safe to reopen ahead of Raac works
A theatre previously closed for investigations into its crumbling concrete will reopen on Monday.
Camberley Theatre closed in April temporarily for building inspections.
Work costing £175,000 to deal with the reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (Raac) is due to take place between August and November.
A council spokesperson said the safety of customers and staff remained the "top priority" and it was safe for the theatre to reopen.
Surrey Heath portfolio holder for leisure and culture, Councillor John Skipper, said he was "delighted" the theatre would reopen.
He added: "We appreciate the importance of Camberley Theatre as an arts and cultural venue in our borough, and the financial contribution it makes to the local economy."
Mr Skipper said specialist surveyors had confirmed it was safe for the theatre to stay open while future works were planned to deal with the Raac.
Work will aim to reinforce the Raac and ensure its long-term integrity, the council said.
The theatre will be closed again during these works and events are being rescheduled for when the theatre's reopening, planned for the end of the year.
