Thanksgiving dinner in Sacramento starting at $29: Places to go for takeout or dine-in

Not everyone wants to spend hours in the kitchen making an extravagant Thanksgiving Day spread.

That’s where Sacramento’s culinary professionals come in.

Trained cooks are prepping multi-course dinners ahead of the fall holiday on Thursday, Nov. 23, for as little as $29 a person. All you have to do is secure your spot (or to-go box) at one of the several restaurants listed below before their books are filled.

Sift through the list of Sacramento-area restaurants set to serve meals, organized from least to most expensive. Restaurants taking orders for Thanksgiving to-go meals are mentioned at the end of the list.

Chevys Fresh Mex

Chevys Fresh Mex, which has multiple area locations, will offer a three-course Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The entire meal includes a salad, roasted turkey with “mole sauce,” mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and pumpkin pie.

Prices range from $29 for adults to $12 for children.

Bennett’s Restaurants

Bennett’s will serve an “exquisite turkey dinner” on Thanksgiving Day at its three Sacramento-area locations including Sacramento, Roseville and Rocklin.

The $31 dinner includes sliced turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and a dinner roll. A slice of pumpkin pie with whipped cream is an extra $8.

The 7th St. Standard

The 7th St. Standard at 1122 Seventh St., will serve a “festive” Thanksgiving Day meal, according to its website.

The $40 turkey feast includes a slow-roasted breast coupled with sourdough stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy and cranberry sauce. Shareable sides range from $8 to $10 and include items similar to the turkey meal with the addition of a green bean casserole.

The single dessert option is a $13 pumpkin cream puff with candied toppings and a cinnamon cremeux.

Sheldon Inn Restaurant + Bar

Sheldon Inn Restaurant + Bar at 9000 Grantline Road in Elk Grove, will serve a three-course Thanksgiving meal for $62 per person.

The menu includes dinner rolls with butter, butternut squash soup, a salad with pears and walnuts and your choice of the following entrees: turkey, prime rib, scallops, pork chop, lobster ravioli or mushroom risotto.

The Delta King

The Delta King at 1000 Front St. is offering a buffet-style Thanksgiving Day meal from noon to 5 p.m.

Options will include roasted turkey, prime rib, salmon, oysters, shrimp, ham, yams, stuffing, salads, desserts and more.

Adults eat for $68 and children 12 and under eat for $25. Call 916-444-8052 to make a reservation.

Willow

For $78 per person, Willow at 1006 Fourth St. , will serve an elevated Thanksgiving spread from noon to 6 p.m. on Thursday. The meal will include a variety of bread, salad, soup, pasta, meats, vegetables and desserts.

Reminder : Willow does not accept cash, according to the restaurant website.

Firehouse Restaurant

Firehouse Restaurant at 1112 Second St. will serve a three-course meal from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day for $84.95 per adult or $34.95 for children 12 and under.

The meal starts with a spinach salad with pears, croutons and walnuts. Then, customers will choose between the turkey, fish, beef or ravioli. Dessert options include carrot cake or pumpkin cheesecake.

The menu is similar for those 12 and under, except the main course options include only turkey and beef.

Grange Restaurant & Bar

If you’re looking for a seasonal and sustainable Thanksgiving meal, Grange Restaurant & Bar at 926 J St. said it has it.

The restaurant will serve a three-course meal packed with your choice of cured raw tuna, butternut squash soup or a salad. Then, select from the following main courses: turkey, prime rib and gnocchi.

Wash it all down with your choice of pumpkin cheesecake, apple pie or carrot cake.

The kids menu is similar, except there’s no first course and the single dessert option is a scoop of gelato.

Prices are $98 per adult and $27 per child (12 and under).
