Thai restaurant gets new name, owners + 1st Papa Murphys opening soon in this area

After years in the restaurant industry, a mother and son are striking out on their own.

Q Taychak and his mother, Viengkham Mexay, recently took over the Green Papaya Thai Restaurant on Clearwater Avenue and are making it their own.

Farh Thai will take everything customers loved about the Green Papaya and add their own family recipes to the mix.

“My mom has been a chef around town forever, she’s got a lot of experience and we were finally able to financial save up to start our own business as a family,” Taychak said. “It was a good location and the time was right.”

Taychak said he would recommend new customers try the Pho or stirfry. He thinks diners will also love the new boba tea they’ve added to the menu alongside the frozen Thai drinks the restaurant was known for.

They took over the restaurant in July, and recently had signage go up. They also offer delivery through Uber Eats and Doordash.

Farh Thai is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. They’re at 5601 W. Clearwater Ave. Ste. 112 in the Rainier Plaza shopping center next to Somer Bakery.
