Texas High School Football: Rockport-Fulton's Jacob Bible resigns after one season with team

Rockport-Fulton will once again begin its search for a new head football coach and athletic director.

Rockport-Fulton ISD officials confirmed Wednesday that Jacob Bible submitted his letter of resignation after one season with the program.

Bible, who was hired in February 2023, led the Pirates to a 2-9 record with both wins coming in District 15-4A Division I play.

Rockport-Fulton also clinched a playoff berth in Bible's lone season before falling to Alice in the bi-district round.

Bible, a native of Moore, Oklahoma, was one of nearly 100 applicants for the job, which was narrowed down to 10 coaches who were interviewed, and was among two finalists for the position.

Bible will remain at Rockport-Fulton until the end of the school year when his contract expires.
