Texans searched for these two luxury vacation spots the most. Mexico isn’t on the list

Imagine dipping your toes in white sand while admiring the clear waters and breathtaking lush mountain views around you. Apparently Texans do quite a bit of dreaming about luxury vacations they’d love to take.

Costa Rica and Bali are two of the most searched destinations by Texans. Approximately 2,500 residents search both locations a month.

Renty, a luxury car rental company, conducted a study based on monthly search volume of desired luxury vacation destinations in the past year. They looked at data based on these popular keywords: “luxury,” “travel” and “itinerary.”

Costa Rica also had higher search volume from California and Florida. Overall, the location rakes in 34,248 searches a month.

Hawaii comes in at No. 2 with searchers coming from Washington and Ohio. The Aloha State was the most popular destination searched in 20 states. Bali comes in third, and the most searched destination in Texas. Interest in visiting the Indonesian island were also high in Illinois and Georgia.

Costa Rica and Bali are currently at a level 2 travel advisory, meaning it is safe to travel there but to use caution, according to the U.S. State Department. Crime is the main reason for the advisory on the Central American nation. Threats of natural disasters and terrorism are the concerns for Bali.
