The Houston Texans reportedly want a combination of six players and/or draft picks for quarterback Deshaun Watson. But a new report claims Houston already had that type of offer on the table–and turned it down.

On the FOX pregame show earlier today, insider Jay Glazer said the Texans were offered three first-round picks and three third-round picks in exchange for their Pro Bowl quarterback, whose NFL future is uncertain because of his ongoing legal issues regarding alleged sexual misconduct.

At the time, Houston said no thanks, Glazer claims.

“They already had that. They had three ones and three threes going into the NFL Draft,” Glazer said. “They had four teams who were really interested back then. They said ‘absolutely not. We’re not trading him.'”

Now, Watson is still technically a member of the Houston Texans, but the team is reportedly keeping him away from the other players. It seems unlikely he’ll ever play again for the franchise that drafted him.

Unfortunately for Houston, it seems just as unlikely they’ll be able to get anything of note for him in a trade, at least as long as his football future remains murky.
