When asked about a possible NFL return during Wednesday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show, former superstar wide receiver Terrell Owens shared a response that got the attention of football fans around the league.

T.O. said he was “blowing up” Andy Reid’s phone all last season in an attempt to join the high-powered Kansas City offense.

“I was blowing his phone up throughout the course of the year like ‘Bring me in. Bring me in,'” the 48 year old said. “They brought Josh Gordon in and he didn’t do anything. I was like ‘I can do what Josh Gordon was doing…’

“You insert me into that offense… I would be valuable… At the end of the day, I’m going to get open. I’m going to be a viable option.”

The NFL world took to Twitter to react to these statements from the five-time All-Pro receiver.

“T.O. playing with Mahomes would’ve been fun to watch. I don’t care about stats or age. That would be awesome,” one fan wrote.

“Would’ve had more catches than Josh Gordon,” another added.

“Give him a tryout or a camp invite, it would be fun to see if he can do anything,” another said.

Through his final NFL season with the Cincinnati Bengals back in 2010, Owens logged 72 receptions for 983 yards and nine touchdowns.

Though it’s been more than a decade since the last time he stepped foot on the NFL gridiron, T.O. is still clearly confident in his ability to return to the field. Just last year, he told TMZ Sports that one “individual” in the NFL ranks asked him to stay in shape because “anything can happen.”
